En byggnads energiprestanda : Hur påverkar isoleringstjockleken en byggnads klimatskärm

The fact that construction and the real estate sector account for a large part, of the emissions that come from Sweden, is a fact. Energy efficient buildings could mean that construction and the real estate sector would account for much lower emissions than they do today. Thermal insulation may play an important role in the new EU-directive, which states that all new buildings will be close to zero energy buildings by 2021. Experts believe that insulation is the solution proposed as the most profitable solution for lower energy consumption and CO2-emissions. The purpose of this thesis is to find out who determines insulation thickness in a building’s climate screen. Another purpose of this report is also to find out, through a thorough and objective study whether an increased insulation thickness is potentially good or not. The result turned out to be positive, as increased insulation thickness resulted in a reduced U-value. A decrease in U-value in turn leads to both lower Um-value and a lower primary energy figure, EPpet.
