Children's learning and development are greatly affected by their environment. School is the place, apart from home, where children spend the most time. The design of a school therefore has a great impact not only on children's learning and development but also a significant impact on their general well-being and participation in society. In a development of Sundbyholm, with an increase in the number of residents, there will also be an increase in the number of children, who currently would have to get on the school bus every morning to get to a school in another part of the municipality. This would have a negative impact on the children's conditions for learning and lead to a reduced sense of belonging to their home and community. Lövgårda school is therefore planned in close proximity to the residential areas in Sundbyholm and is designed according to the children's conditions for learning and identity creation. The goal of Lövgårda school is not only to create a place well adapted for the child when they sit at the school desk, but also to invite all other parts of society. Lövgårda school is a rounded wooden building, divided into four parts that are lifted off the ground with the help of a yellow lacquered steel construction. The school's program is designed for 450 students from 1st to 9th grade and includes both classrooms and unprogrammed areas for play and socializing, both indoors and outdoors. The building also includes a restaurant, library, co-working areas and a small health center, all open to the public. The hope is that Lövgårda school will, with the help of architecture and construction, become a place that improves the children's conditions for learning and development and connects them with all of Sundbyholm. / Barns lärande och utveckling påverkas i allra högsta grad av deras omgivning. Skolan är den plats, bortsett från hemmet, som barn spenderar mest tid på. Skolans utformning har på så sätt inte bara en stor påverkan på barns inlärning och utveckling utan även en betydande påverkan på deras allmänna välbefinnande och delaktighet i samhället. I en utveckling av Sundbyholm, med en ökning i antalet bofasta, kommer även en ökning i mängden barn, som i dagsläget skulle behöva sätta sig på skolbussen varje morgon för att ta sig till en skola i en annan del av kommunen. Barnen får då sämre förutsättningar för lärande och en minskad tillhörighet till sitt hem och samhälle. Lövgårda skola planeras därför i nära anslutning till bostadsområden i Sundbyholm och utformas efter barnens förutsättningar för lärande och identitetsskapande. Målet med Lövgårda skola är inte bara att skapa en plats väl anpassad för barnet när de sitter i skolbänken, utan även att bjuda in alla andra delar av samhället. Lövgårda skolan är en rundad träbyggnad, uppdelad i fyra delar som lyfts av marken med hjälp av en gul lackerad stålkonstruktion. Skolans program är utformat för 450 elever från 1an till 9an och inkluderar såväl klassrum som oprogrammerade ytor för lek och umgänge, såväl inne som ute. Byggnaden inkluderar även restaurang, bibliotek, co-working ytor och en mindre vårdcentral, alla öppna för allmänheten. Förhoppningen är att Lövgårda skola ska, med hjälp av arkitekturen och konstruktionen, bli en plats som förbättrar barnens förutsättningar för lärande och utveckling och kopplar samman dem med hela Sundbyholm.
