This diploma thesis presents the effect of a diet on milk yield and composition in dairy cows. The aim is to provide a comprehensive view on the whole issue, which means considering the forage quality, the way total mixed rations (TMR) are prepared and the way feed is utilised in cows. More than one source of information must have been used to evaluate all these factors objectively. They include milk-performance-testing data, TMR chemical analyses, separating the rations on Penn State Particle Separator and evaluating cow manure on Digestion Analyzer.
