The subject of the thesis are composite indicators, which in recent years has been developing rapidly and are often discussed areas. The theoretical part focuses on the description of composite indicators and their methodology design. The practical part is devoted to the analysis and design of the indicator. The indicators of the composite indicator has been selected to represent the influences on the development of the region. They reflect the economic, social and environmental. Based on the analysis in the final part of the design, which describes possible methods to improve the situation in the country region of East Africa.
