Hodnocení krmných dávek sportovních koní

The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the feed ration of sport horses on the farm Elevage The Field in Switzerland. A total of 18 horses of various breed, age and workload were selected for evaluation. Their workload and daily food intake were recorded for five months. This period was divided into two periods (from February to April and from May to July). Horses were divided into two categories, namely the group of working horses and the group of horses without a workload (young and convalescent horses). Condition of both groups of horses was evaluated according to (BCS). Further, the need for nutrients was determined and the calculation of feed rations was performed according to the standards of NRC (2012) and Zeman et al. (2005). Both standards were then compared with each other. After that the adequacy of dry matter, SEk, NL (SNLk), fat and fiber intake was assessed . It was found that the technique of feeding and the way of breeding mostly meet the needs of sport horses. Based on the comparison of needed and received nutrients, it was found that the dry matter, fat and fiber intake is adequate for both groups of horses. However, most rated horses recieved more of SEk and NL (SNLk) than their daily need. Both used standards can be considered comparable in calculation of SEk; in terms of content of NL (SNLk) there are some differences. The standard by Zeman et al. (2005) is much stricter in this regard.
