Los conceptos de eficacia, eficiencia y efectividad constituyen índices de calidad
terapéutica. Es necesario conocer cuáles son las creencias epistemológicas que manejan
fonoaudiólogos y usuarios de estos términos. Poder determinar esta información ayudará a
determinar un lenguaje común sobre estos términos y así al momento de planificar la terapia y
sus objetivos, se realice sobre un conocimiento compartido.
Para recabar esta información, se aplicó el IPETV-R, instrumento de medición creado
especialmente para la investigación, a 30 fonoaudiólogos y 30 usuarios del área de voz de las
regiones V y Metropolitana de Chile. El IPETV-R consta de una escala tipo Likert con 16
enunciados que definen los conceptos de eficacia, eficiencia y efectividad, más un apartado
escrito donde se pueden proponer sus propias definiciones.
Se realizó un análisis cuanti y cualitativo del IPETV-R. Para la escala tipo Likert, ambos
grupos mostraron una actitud favorable frente a todos los enunciados. En el apartado escrito se
observa gran diversidad. Destaca en ambos grupos el logro de objetivos como elemento central
de sus definiciones. Se observa en usuarios una mayor confusión entre los conceptos o un
desconocimiento de éstos.
Se concluyó que los resultados cuantitativos obtenidos no cumplen con los objetivos
planteados, pues no se logra realizar una caracterización con este tipo de escala. Sin embargo,
sí se pudo realizar desde un análisis del discurso con las respuestas del apartado escrito del
IPETV-R, donde el 50% de los respondientes considera al usuario en alguna de sus
definiciones. / The efficacy, efficiency and effectiveness concepts are quality indicators of therapy. It is
necessary to know which are the epistemological beliefs that speech therapists and patients
handle. Know this will help to determine a common language about these concepts, and at the
moment of the therapy and its objectives planning, it is done under a shared knowledge.
To get this information, it was applied the IPETV-R, measuring instrument specially
created for this research, to 30 speech therapist and 30 patients from the 5th and Metropolitan
regions of Chile. The IPETV-R consist of a Likert scale with 16 statements that define the
efficacy, efficiency and effectiveness concepts, plus a written section where they can propose
their own definitions.
A quanti-qualitative analysis of IPETV-R was made. For Likert scale, both groups
showed a favorable attitude toward all statements. In the written section is observed diversity.
Stands out in both groups that achieving objectives is a central element in their definitions. More
confusion between the concepts or ignorance is observed in patients.
It was concluded that the quantitative results obtained do not comply with the objectives,
because it fails to perform a characterization with this kind of scale. However, it could be
performed from a discourse analysis of answers from the written section of IPETV-R, where 50%
of respondents considered the patients in some of its definitions.
