The Renaissance painting decoration of the castle Český Krumlov during the reign of the last Rožberks Český Krumlov is one of the biggest and most historically important castle our country. Since the 14th century was the property of a significant Czech family - lords of Rožmberk. During the rule of humanistic educated lords of Rožmberk, in second half of the 16th century, was conducted reconstruction of the castle into Renaissance chateau. The Renaissance spirit of the castle has preserved to this day. The idea is evident both in the exterior and in the interior. The painter's decoration of the castle was closely linked to the owner of the castle and the entire dominion, who showed his prestige, political power or ancestral tradition. The painter's decoration of the castle during the last Rožmberks was also the main theme of this diploma thesis.
