La autoestima es la evaluación que el individuo hace y mantiene por costumbre sobre sí mismo, expresa una actitud de aprobación e indica el grado en el que el individuo se cree capaz, importante, exitoso y valioso, por lo tanto la autoestima se vuelve en uno de los pilares fundamentales de la salud metal y principalmente es formada en el primer ente socializador del ser humano, la familia. Una dinámica familiar funcional garantiza el ambiente adecuado para formar una autopercepción positiva.
El presente estudio titulado “Relación que existe entre el nivel de autoestima y el tipo de dinámica familiar de adolescentes del Centro Educativo Leoncio Prado, San Juan de Miraflores, 2011”, con el objetivo de determinar la relación entre el nivel de autoestima y el tipo de dinámica familiar de los adolescentes del Centro Educativo Leoncio Prado, San Juan de Miraflores. El estudio es de tipo cuantitativo, método descriptivo, de corte transversal, la población estuvo conformada por 50 adolescentes de 5° de secundaria de la Institución educativa Leoncio Prado, los cuales fueron escogidos aleatoriamente. La técnica que se utilizó fue la encuesta y se aplicaron dos instrumentos: La escala modificada de autoestima de Coopersmith y un cuestionario sobre la dinámica familiar.
El 62% de los adolescentes encuestados presentan autoestima alta y 90% poseen dinámica familiar funcional. Con respecto a la relación del nivel de autoestima y dinámica familiar se demostró estadísticamente mediante la fórmula del CHI cuadrado que existe una asociación entre las variables. (p=0,01).
Por lo tanto se concluye que existe relación entre el nivel de autoestima y el tipo de dinámica familiar.

A functional family dynamics guarantees the right environment to form a positive self-perception.
This study entitled "Relationship that exists between the level of self-esteem and the type of family dynamics of teenagers from the Educational Center Leoncio Prado, San Juan de Miraflores, 2011", with the aim of determining the relationship between the level of self-esteem and the type of family dynamics of adolescent Educational Center Leoncio Prado, San Juan de Miraflores. The study is quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional method, the population was formed by 50 adolescents of 4th and 5th secondary Educational Institution Leoncio Prado, which were chosen randomly. The technique that was used was the survey and applied two instruments: the amended scale of CooperSmith self-esteem and a questionnaire on family dynamics.
62 Of surveyed adolescents have high self-esteem and 90 have functional family dynamics. With regard to the relationship of the level of self-esteem and family dynamics demonstrated statistically by the formula of the CHI square that there is an association between the variables (p0, 01). Therefore it is concluded that there is a proportional relationship between the level of self-esteem and the type of family dynamics.
