El SIDA representa un problema de salud pública y es una gran amenaza para los países en desarrollo, las características sociodemográficas de la enfermedad reflejan que la mayoría de los pacientes afectados de SIDA son jóvenes, y más del 50 % tienen de 15 a 24 años de edad se presume que se registran diariamente aproximadamente 14.000 nuevos casos de infección por el VIH y más del 95 % en países en desarrollo, en el Perú, solo en Lima y Callao se encuentran entre el 70-75% de los afectados y se registran 1000 casos nuevos cada año, esto implica que las personas afectadas estén expuestas a presentar enfermedades oportunistas que los llevan a un periodo de hospitalización y siendo la enfermera quien tiene un contacto más estrecho y directo con estos pacientes surge la interrogante ¿ Cómo es la Dimensión Humana en la Atención que Brinda la Enfermera a Pacientes en Estadio SIDA en Hospitales del 3er nivel de atención del MINSA?.
