La franja volcánica del sur del Perú, enmarcada dentro del arco magmático principal en los Andes Peruanos presenta un interesante potencial aurífero epitermal, cuyas manifestaciones son los actuales yacimientos auríferos epitermales de alta sulfuración de Aruntani y Huilacollo. Es en este contexto que a partir de lo investigado en la revisión bibliográfica y de campo, surge nuestra motivación para investigar a profundidad las características del yacimiento aurífero de Pucamarca; específicamente en tres áreas de interés. Primero, describir a profundidad las características de yacimiento aurífero de Pucamarca, ubicándolo previamente en un ámbito regional incluyendo las siguientes áreas temáticas: Geografía, estratigrafía, petrología y rocas ígneas y finalmente aspectos estructurales. Segundo, poder reconocer las características de este yacimiento como pertenecientes a un modelo de estilo epitermal de alta sulfuración alojado en una diatrema. Tercero, si bien este tipo de yacimiento no ha sido estudiado profundamente en la zona sur del Perú, nos interesa el poder situarlo en un contexto de estudio y comparación con otros yacimientos auríferos epitermales alojados en diatremas en el Perú y el mundo. Centrándonos de manera específica en los yacimientos de Quicay (Perú); Marcapunta (Perú); Kelian Gold Mine (Indonesia) y Rosia Montana (Rumania). Análisis global, que nos permite aportar a la construcción del conocimiento geológico sobre la variedad y potencial aurífero que existe en la franja volcánica cenozoica del sur del Perú. Palabras Clave: Franja volcánica del sur del perú, aurífero epitermal, alta sulfuración y diatrema / The volcanic band of the south of Peru, framed inside the principal magmatic arch in the Peruvian Andes, presents an interesting auriferous epithermal potential, whose manifestations are the current auriferous epithermal deposits of high sulfuración of Aruntani and Huilacollo. Is in this context that from the investigated in the bibliographical review and field exploration, that arises our motivation to investigate deeply the characteristics of Pucamarca's auriferous deposit; specifically in three areas of interest. Firstly, to describe deeply the characteristics of Pucamarca.'s auriferous deposit, locating it before in a regional area including the following thematic areas: Geography, stratigraphy, petrology and igneous rocks and finally structural aspects. Secondly, to be able to recognize the characteristics of this deposit like belonging to a model of epitermal style of high sulfuration lodged in a diatreme. Thirdly, though this type of deposit has not been studied deeply in the south zone of Peru, we are interested in being able to place it in a context of study and comparison with other auriferous epithermal deposits lodged in diatremas in Peru and the world. Being focus in a specificly on Quicay's deposits (Peru); Marcapunta (Peru); Kelian Gold Mines (Indonesia) and Rosia Montana (Romania). This global analysis, allows us to reach to the construction of the geological knowledge related to the variety and auriferous potential that exists in the volcanic cenozoic band of the south of Perú.
