O objeto de análise desta dissertação, com ênfase na história da Península Ibérica Medieval
Portuguesa, concentra-se nos elementos constituintes da crônica D. João I, de Fernão Lopes
(1380-1460), principalmente do seu prólogo, verificando sua categoria da História e os
elementos determinantes da mudança do gênero crônica, método que rompeu definitivamente
com a tradição medieval, distinguindo história e ficção, e levar este conhecimento aos alunos
e professores do Ensino Fundamental II e Médio de nossas escolas. Seu método investigativo
inovou pela severa crítica do material e das fontes históricas que dispunha acreditando que na
confrontação dos fatos seria possível apurar o que era para ele a “verdade”. O recorte
documental selecionado, possibilitou mapear uma espécie de gênese do discurso
historiográfico português, sobretudo em razão do fato de que a obra foi produzida num
período conturbado e decisivo do pensamento histórico e político no reino, que culminou com
a ascensão da dinastia de Avis (1383-1385). Esta pesquisa apresenta indicadores do
compromisso do cronista na busca da sua História verdadeira e nua, mesmo que para isto
tenha sustentado um discurso diferente dos cronistas anteriores, e muitas vezes contraditório.
Lembrando que o cronista, ao dominar os estudos e os métodos, sob o sistema de referência,
os objetos fixados, e os critérios de avaliação aplicados em seu tempo, na especificidade do
seu conhecimento, acreditou seguir no encalço da sua verdade, evitando que a História
deslizasse pelo seu temível oposto, a invenção, evitou os excessos para embelezamento da
narrativa, que deveria ser concisa e sem negligenciar os fatos já registrados por outros
historiadores. Os resultados desta pesquisa, sob o ponto de vista da elaboração de um produto
final utilizando novas tecnologias de informação, serão disponibilizados sob a forma de Jornal
Digital denominado Páginas da História, na linguagem, especificidade e interesse de alunos e
professores do nosso sistema de Ensino. / This dissertation’s subject, with emphasis on the history of the Portuguese Medieval Iberian
Peninsula, are the constitutive elements of the chronic King John I, by Fernão Lopes (1380-
1460), especially the prologue, investigating its historical category and the elements of change
of the chronic gender, a method that definitely broke with the medieval tradition,
distinguishing history and fiction. The study also seeks to bring this knowledge to the
students and teachers of Primary School (II) and High School. Its investigative method
innovated by severe criticism of the available material and the historical sources, believing
that through fact checking it would be possible to ascertain what was for him the truth. The
selected document clipping, made it possible to map a kind of genesis of the Portuguese
historiographical discourse, especially due to the fact that the work was produced in a
troubled and decisive period of history and political thought in the kingdom, which
culminated in the rise of the Avis Dynasty (1383-1385). This research presents indicators of
the chronicler's commitment to the search for true and naked history, even if for this he
sustained a discourse different from the earlier, and often contradictory, chroniclers.
Remembering that the chronicler, to master the studies and methods, under the reference
system, fixed objects, and the evaluation criteria applied in their time, in the specificity of
their knowledge, he proceeded in the pursuit of truth, avoiding its fearful opposite, invention,
and also avoiding the excesses of beautifying the narrative, which should be concise and
without neglecting the facts already recorded by other historians. The results of this research,
from the point of view of the preparation of a final product using new information
technologies, will be made available in the form of a "Digital Newspaper", in the language,
specificity and interest of students and teachers of of our teaching system.
