Sandra Helena Gonçalves Fernandes- Dissertação.pdf: 1441183 bytes, checksum: 9cb38e88e6ed7cbf3c3b4d95d45e9ba0 (MD5) / CAPES / O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar o desempenho do setor pesqueiro e a sua contribuição para o desenvolvimento socioeconômico e ambiental de Cabo Verde. Para alcance do objetivo deste trabalho, a pesquisa inicia-se com um breve síntese sobre o desenvolvimento econômico e inovação tecnológica, através de uma retrospectiva de fatos econômicos relevantes às estratégias estabelecidas por Schumpeter. Também foi feito um estudo acerca do desenvolvimento sustentável e foi desenvolvido os modelos teóricos aplicáveis à gestão de recursos naturais. Em seguida, apresenta-se os aspectos referentes a caracterização do objeto de estudo, desde a sua descoberta até a apresentação da estrutura e análise do desempenho socioeconômico, e depois foi discutida a abordagem analítica do setor pesqueiro em Cabo Verde. Portanto, conclui-se que apesar da sua baixa contribuição na formação do PIB, o setor pesqueiro é muito importante para o desenvolvimento socioeconômico de Cabo Verde, uma vez que o país não dispõe de outros recursos naturais de grande expressão econômica. Por fim, foi constatado também que o setor tem evoluído em termos de captura, número de pescadores, esforços e número de barcos. / The present study aims to analyze the performance of the fishing industry and its contribution to the socioeconomic and environmental development of Cape Verde. To reach the objective of this work, the research begins with a brief synthesis on economic development and technological innovation, through a retrospective of economic facts relevant to the strategies established by Schumpeter. A study on sustainable development was also carried out and the theoretical models applicable to the management of natural resources were developed. Afterwards, the aspects related to the characterization of the study object, from its discovery to the presentation of the structure and analysis of the socioeconomic performance, are presented, and then the analytical approach of the fishing sector in Cape Verde was discussed. Therefore, it is concluded that despite its low contribution to GDP formation, the fishing sector is very important for the socioeconomic development of Cape Verde, since the country does not have other natural resources of great economic expression. Finally, it was also noted that the sector has evolved in terms of catch, number of fishermen, efforts and number of vessels.
