The purpose of this work is to develop a preliminary Rotor Burst analysis with focus on system's location. The work addresses design precautions to minimize the hazards to the airplane in the event of uncontained engine rotor failures. Advisory Circular (AC) 20-128A is used as guideline since it is considered an acceptable means of compliance with requirement FAR/JAR/RBHA 25.903(d)(1). The dissertation is applied to a 30-seat commercial regional jet aircraft developed in the context of the EMBRAER Engineering Specialization Program (PEE).
