Previous issue date: 2018-08-16 / Innovation is usually achieved through the success of its results, whenever implemented in the market where it is inserted, highlighting the close relationship between it and competitiveness, on the one hand, and between novelty and customer satisfaction, on the other. The main objective of this qualitative research was to understand and contextualize the innovations in the sector through the perception of the main civil construction managers in Fortaleza - CE, and to know if the designers' architects contribute in any way to these innovations. In this way, it was verified that in Fortaleza CE, Innovation in the Civil Construction Sector assumes an incremental, non-disruptive character, focused especially on the improvement of new construction techniques. The other types of innovations in the sector, geared internally to the company and especially to the customer, still have a large gap to be filled. It was observed that the participation of the architect as manager is little or no, due to the low remuneration of the project, the low or no decision power of the designer and his distant relationship with the final client, the user of the housing unit, who your turn is the client of the construction company. / A Inovação é normalmente obtida através do sucesso dos seus resultados, sempre que implementada no mercado onde está inserida, destacando a estreita relação existente entre esta e a competitividade, por um lado, e entre a novidade e a satisfação do cliente, por outro. O objetivo desta pesquisa, predominantemente qualitativa, foi, através da percepção dos principais gestores da construção civil, em Fortaleza ¿ CE, entender e contextualizar as inovações no setor, e saber se os arquitetos projetistas contribuem de alguma forma com essas inovações. Desta forma foi verificado que, em Fortaleza CE, a Inovação no Setor da Construção Civil assume caráter incremental, não disrupitivo, e é focada especialmente no aperfeiçoamento de novas técnicas construtivas. Os demais tipos de inovações no setor, voltadas internamente para a empresa e especialmente para o cliente, ainda possuem grande lacuna a ser preenchida. Constatou-se que a participação do arquiteto enquanto gestor é pouca ou nenhuma, em função da baixa remuneração do projeto, do baixo ou nenhum poder de decisão do projetista e de sua relação distante com o cliente final, o usuário da unidade habitacional, que por sua vez é o cliente da construtora.
