Previous issue date: 2010-11-25 / The changes of the working life and society in general, from a temporality marked by unruly growth of industrial automation, resulting in significant changes in the way of life of local fishermen. Although promoting some progress it also disturbs the primary meaning of artisanal fisheries producing serious consequences such as psychological distress among this population. The highlighted problems that boosted this research involved the perception that the livelihoods of local contemporary fishermen can overestimated the work as exchange value and proliferate a way of life where the subjective dimension of work is not privileged. The main objective was to investigate in the discourse of the local fishermen the meanings attributed to their work. The research was held in the colony of fishermen Z-7 on the beaches of the County of Caucaia / CE, Brazil. The author chose a qualitative methodological approach that, in a systematic, sustained the scope of the research objective. The ethnography allowed revealing the way of life of fisherman community Z-7 specifically in their work, through the resources of participant observation, interviews, field diaries, and finally, the ethnographic report. Also the DSC/CSD - Collective Subject Discourse designed in the form of a single speech, a representation of the social group of fishermen on their work. The DSC experiments allowed the identification of leisure in the work of the fisherman. Concluding, it was found that among the meanings, there is similarity of the work of the fisherman with the craftsman and the worker. There is suffering, because it is not an activity that creates value for capital, and satisfaction when the job involves an experience. The work of the fisherman includes expertise in mastering a craft know-how passed on from generation to generation, the fascination of dealing with challenges harmonics, finally, satisfaction in the activity itself, which in a sense of flow in the experiment, may cause sense of a more humane, less alienating, allowing the rebuilding himself. One can then relate these aspects with the significance of leisure that has, within its own characteristics, the meaning of a humanizing experience. What makes this work important is perhaps facilitate the perception of this fisherman about the potential of his work as a craft that can also generate satisfaction, thereby providing benefits that can result in better health and wellbeing.Ouvir

Apesar de promoverem algum progresso, também, desestruturaram o significado primário da pesca artesanal, produzindo graves consequências, como o sofrimento psíquico dessa população. A problemática evidenciada que impulsionou a realizar esta pesquisa envolveu a percepção de que o modo de vida do pescador artesanal contemporâneo pode hipervalorizar o trabalho como valor de troca e proliferar um modelo de vida onde não se privilegia a dimensão subjetiva do trabalho. O objetivo central foi investigar no discurso do pescador artesanal os significados atribuídos ao seu trabalho. Realizou-se na colônia de pescadores Z-7 das praias do Município de Caucaia/CE, Brasil. Elegeu-se uma metodologia de abordagem qualitativa que, de forma sistemática, sustentou o alcance do objetivo da pesquisa. A etnografia possibilitou o revelar do modo de vida do pescador artesanal da comunidade Z-7 especificamente em seu trabalho, através dos recursos da observação participante, entrevistas, diário de campo e, por fim, do relato etnográfico. Também, o DSC Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo arquitetou, na forma de um discurso único, uma representação social do grupo de pescadores sobre o seu trabalho. O DSC possibilitou a identificação de experiências de ócio no trabalho do pescador. Concluindo, identificou-se que, dentre os significados, há uma semelhança do trabalho do pescador com o do artífice e o do operário. Existe sofrimento, por ser uma atividade que não gera valor para o capital, e satisfação quando o trabalho envolve uma experiência. O trabalho do pescador artesanal inclui a perícia artesanal em dominar um saber fazer repassado de geração a geração, a fascinação em lidar com desafios harmônicos, enfim, a satisfação na atividade em si, que, em um sentimento de fluxo na experiência, pode provocar a sensação de um trabalho mais humanizado, menos alienante, possibilitando o recriar-se. Podem-se relacionar então esses aspectos com o significado da experiência de ócio que contém, em suas características próprias, o sentido de uma experiência humanizante. O que torna relevante este trabalho é talvez facilitar a percepção desse pescador quanto ao potencial do seu trabalho, como um ofício que possa também gerar satisfação, propiciando assim benefícios capazes de resultar em melhores condições de saúde e bem-estar.
