The issues related to gender and sexuality indicate relevant aspects in the construction of
masculinity in articulation with physical handicap. Such evidences makes us question the
production of discourses of physical handicap permeated by prejudice and exclusion because
it relates bodily difference to an abject body and also because bodies are used in an arbitrary
way to explain a division of population. Therefore, this research aims at analyzing the
discourses and the representations of gender, body and sexuality based on interlocutions with
physically handicapped people. When taking into consideration cultural, historical and social
processes by which handicap has been produced and represented in contemporaneity in the
perspective of cultural and gender studies, we still operate in an intersection with the
dimensions of race, ethnicity and social class. The theoretical and methodological base of this
study is related to post-structuralist perspectives present in cultural, feminist and Queer
studies. In order to conduct this study we opted for an ethnographic approach using
information recorded in different records: field diary and interview. The perspectives of
problematization that were produced from these two sources of record/production in/of the
field work will be analyzed based on Foucault s analysis of discourse. This decision
concerning methodology will enable us to investigate the social and cultural processes by
which bodies are produced by choosing as interlocutors young men aged from 18 to 45 who
practice physical activity and are physically handicapped. We concluded that physical
handicap is a bodily experience that is socially and culturally signified and, in this process, we
emphasize the views of body, gender and sexuality.

As questões relacionadas ao gênero e à sexualidade refletem aspectos relevantes na
constituição da masculinidade em articulação com a deficiência física. Tais indicações levam
a questionar a produção de discursos acerca da deficiência, marcados pelo preconceito e pela
exclusão, por atribuir à diferença uma representação corporal abjeta e serem usados, de
maneira arbitrária, para explicar uma divisão da população. Portanto, esta pesquisa tem o
objetivo de analisar os discursos e representações de gênero, corpo e sexualidade com base
em interlocuções com pessoas com deficiência física. Ao se levar em consideração os
processos culturais, históricos e sociais, por meio dos quais a deficiência é produzida e
representada na contemporaneidade, na perspectiva dos estudos culturais e de gênero, operase,
ainda, em uma intersecção com as dimensões de raça, etnia e classe social. Este estudo
está alojado teórico-metodologicamente em perspectivas pós-estruturalistas presentes nos
Estudos Culturais, Estudos Feministas e Estudos Queer. Para a realização deste ensaio, optouse
por uma abordagem etnográfica, utilizando-se de informações acomodadas em registros do
diário de campo e de entrevista. As entradas de problematização que se produziram com
suporte nesses dois movimentos de registro/produção no/do trabalho de campo são analisadas
com base na análise do discurso foucaultiana. Esta escolha metodológica permitiu pesquisar
os processos sociais e culturais pelos quais os corpos são produzidos, elegendo como
interlocutores homens jovens de 18 a 45 anos praticantes de atividade física, com deficiência
física. Concluiu-se que a deficiência é uma experiência corporal significada social e
culturalmente, destacando-se nesse processo o recorte de corpo, gênero e sexualidade.
