Previous issue date: 2015-11-06 / The present study aimed to understand processes of resilience of a family that
experienced the domestic sexual abuse of a member. More specifically, we sought to
describe the process of revelation of sexual abuse, the structure and dynamics of the
family before and after the abuse, the support network with which the family counted on,
as well as the family resilience indicators. For this, only one experimental case study
research was performed. The participant family consisted of a mother and four children,
and the victim (now a 17 years old girl) was abused by her stepfather from 9 to 14 years
old, when the revelation/denunciation of the violence occurred and the consequent
removal of the assailant. The research was based on Ecological Insertion in the
triangulation of data from different instruments (interviews, field journal, genogram and
analysis of the victim s medical records) and the listening to several participants (the
victim, the victim's mother, older brother, biological father, neighbor, church leadership
and psychologist of CREAS). Content analysis procedures guided the systematization of
seven categories of analysis, which were discussed in the light of the systemic frame. The
results showed a very confrontational family dynamics between mother and victim; the
victim s symptoms as a form of communication; the existence of an extra family support
network that was decisive in the process of revelation of the abuse and in the postrevelation
period (neighbor s role and the Church leadership, for example); frequent
interruptions in service received by the victim on the CREAS; as well as the importance
of a listening space to the victim's mother suffering. The indicators of family resilience
(beliefs system, organizational and communicational processes) were also identified.
This study is concluded by underlining the importance of a more dynamic, dialectic and
contextualized vision of the families who experience sexual abuse and family resilience
processes experienced by them.

família que vivenciou o abuso sexual intrafamiliar de um membro. Especificamente,
buscou-se descrever o processo da revelação do abuso sexual, a estrutura e dinâmica da
família antes e após o abuso, a rede de apoio com a qual a família contou, assim como os
indicadores de resiliência familiar.Para isso, realizou-se uma pesquisa com delineamento
de estudo de caso único. A família participante era composta por mãe e quatro filhos,
sendo que a vítima (hoje com 17 anos) foi abusada pelo padrasto dos 9 aos 14 anos,
quando ocorreu a revelação/denúncia da violência e o consequente afastamento do
agressor. A pesquisa baseou-se na Inserção Ecológica, na triangulação de dados de
diferentes instrumentos (entrevistas, diário de campo, genograma e análise de prontuários
da vítima) e na escuta de vários participantes (vítima, mãe da vítima, irmão mais velho,
pai biológico, vizinha, liderança da Igreja e psicóloga do CREAS). Os procedimentos da
Análise de Conteúdo orientaram a sistematização de sete categorias de análise, as quais
foram discutidas à luz do referencial sistêmico. Os resultados evidenciaram uma
dinâmica familiar bastante conflituosa entre mãe e vítima; a sintomatologia da vítima
como uma forma de comunicação; a existência de uma rede de apoio extrafamiliar que
foi decisiva no processo de revelação do abuso e no período pós-revelação (papel da
vizinha e da liderança da igreja, por exemplo); frequentes interrupções no atendimento
recebido pela vítima no CREAS; assim como a importância de um espaço de escuta do
sofrimento da mãe da vítima. Os indicadores de resiliência familiar (sistema de crenças,
processos organizacionais e comunicacionais) também foram identificados. Conclui-se
sublinhando a relevância de uma visão mais dinâmica, dialética e contextualizada das
famílias que vivenciam o abuso sexual e dos processos de resiliência familiar por elas
vividos.
