Previous issue date: 2016-06-30 / FAPEAM - Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas / The study is an analysis about the meanings of maternity women condemned who became mothers
in the female penitentiary complex Anísio Jobim (COMPAJ). The study takes into account that the
child is only three (3) to six (6) months with the mothers' behind bars, as well as the emotional
difficulties faced by these women when they should hand over their children to the family, to
relatives away to family or friends for adoption. They were also perceived difficulties and
abandonment that they suffer from family and society. Deepening the theme through the literature,
interviews and focus group came to confirm once again on what we already know, that is the
indifference of the State and of the competent authorities with this population. With twelve (12)
women in the Women's Penitentiary in Manaus - PFM and fourteen (14) women in the Detention
Center provisionally CDPF, both located in BR 174, km 8. Our field research began in mid-2014,
and mature and completed the observations, interviews, focus meetings at the end of 2015. During
the research we observed the reaction and the ratio of internal to with the babies inside the lockup,
was also observed and heard the distress of mothers day after day to face the moment of the child's
departure for another space, which will have a living with relatives or even strangers, or will be
able to be adopted. We understand that the lack of social policies, the lack of initiatives by the
State to seek partnerships, agents able to minimize some of the suffering and anguish of this
vulnerable class are highlighted, do not say this just referring to our state, but as a whole in the
country. Talk about motherhood with these women was not difficult, difficult it was to think with
them in detachment, in separation or possible adoption, for we were citizenship classes, affection
and care. Understanding the breaking of bonding between mother and son in the prison everyday,
that yes, it was painful and at the same time of great value to our research and our lives out here. / O estudo faz uma análise sobre os significados da maternidade das mulheres condenadas que se
tornaram mães dentro do Complexo Penitenciário Feminino Anísio Jobim (COMPAJ). O estudo
leva em conta que a criança fica apenas de três (3) a seis (6) meses com a genitora atrás das grades,
bem como, as dificuldades emocionais enfrentadas por estas mulheres quando devem entregar seus
filhos para os familiares, para os parentes distantes, para os amigos da família ou para a adoção.
Também foram percebidas as dificuldades e o abandono que elas sofrem por parte da família e da
sociedade. O aprofundamento na temática através das literaturas, das entrevistas e do grupo focal
veio a confirmar mais uma vez o que já sabemos, que é o descaso do Estado e das autoridades
competentes para com esta população. Entrevistamos doze (12) mulheres na Penitenciária
Feminina de Manaus - PFM e quatorze (14) mulheres no Centro de Detenção Provisória- CDPF,
ambas localizadas na BR 174, km 8. Nossa pesquisa de campo iniciou-se em meados de 2014,
sendo amadurecidas e concluídas as observações, as entrevistas, os encontros focais no final de
2015. Durante a pesquisa observou-se a reação e a relação das internas para com os bebês dentro
da carceragem, também foi observada e ouvida a angústia das mães dia após dia para o
enfrentamento do momento da partida da criança para outro espaço, onde terá um convívio com
parentes ou até mesmo estranhos, ou ainda terá a possibilidade de ser adotada. Compreendemos
que a falta de políticas públicas sociais, a falta de iniciativas por parte do Estado em buscar
parcerias, agentes capazes de minimizar um pouco o sofrimento e a angústia desta classe de
vulneráveis ficam destacados, não dizemos isto só nos referindo ao nosso Estado, mas, como um
todo no país. Falar sobre a maternidade com estas mulheres não foi tarefa difícil, difícil mesmo foi
pensar com elas em desapego, em separação ou em possível adoção, para nós foram aulas de
cidadania, de afeto e de carinho. Compreender o rompimento dos laços afetivos da mãe com o
filho no cotidiano carcerário, isto sim, foi doloroso e ao mesmo tempo de grande valia para nossa
pesquisa e para nossa vida aqui fora.
