The secularized world has brought great progress to the humanity. However, a hard reality
is revealed: there is no place to expressions such as suffering, pain and death. This reality is
already perceptible in the big cities, where the rites and spaces that can integrate and arise
reflections on death are of little value. Not only does the contact with death oblige us to
find another meaning in life, but it also makes us seek for the one of the death.
Starting with the comprehension of death and mourning in the human development,
based on authors such as Carl Gustav Jung, John Bowlby and Colin Parkes, it has been
possible to realize that some ampliation was needed. Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann s
sociology of the knowledge, Edgar Morin s death anthropology and the historian Philipe
Aries contributions helped to build a more complete vision of that human being towards
his mortality consciousness.
This dissertation s objective is to demonstrate the importance of the religious space,
specifically the spiritism, to keep in the contents of mourning elaboration and questions
about being finite as human beings. In spiritism and its belief in life after death, it is
understood that it is possible to communicate with the spirits of the dead. The practice of
psychography, analized in this work, ends up making this elaboration easier and creating a
warm environment for the mourner and his questions.
To finish, 17 mourners talking about their loss experience were heard, supporting
the importance of opening ourselves to the question of the sense of being human. This work
intends to contribute to the religiosity comprehension as part of the human psychism. The
individual existence is full of beliefs, symbols and religious attitudes that allow to integrate
death in its history, mainly to rescue and value life / A tendência à banalização da morte e do morrer tem crescido muito. O mundo
secularizado trouxe grandes avanços para a humanidade mas, como consequência, uma
dura realidade se revela: não há lugar para as expressões de sofrimento, dor e morte. Esta
realidade já é visível nos grandes centros urbanos, onde os ritos e espaços que possibilitam
a integração e a reflexão sobre a morte, são pouco valorizados. Entrar em contato com a
morte nos obriga a encontrar um outro sentido para a vida, mas também nos leva a buscar o
da morte.
Partindo da compreensão sobre morte e luto no desenvolvimento humano, baseada
em autores como Carl Gustav Jung, John Bowlby, Colin Parkes, foi possível perceber que o
tema pedia uma ampliação para abordá-lo. A sociologia do conhecimento de Peter Berger e
Thomas Luckmann, a antropologia da morte de Edgar Morin, as contribuições do
historiador Phillipe Àries auxiliaram em uma visão mais completa deste ser humano diante
da consciência de sua mortalidade.
O objetivo desta dissertação é demonstrar a importância do espaço religioso,
especificamente o espiritismo, como continente à elaboração do luto e às questões sobre a
finitude humana. O espiritismo, por acreditar em uma vida após a morte, entende que é
possível comunicar-se com os espíritos dos mortos. A prática da psicografia, analisada
neste trabalho, acaba sendo um meio facilitador nesta elaboração e acaba por criar um
espaço de acolhimento deste enlutado e de suas questões.
Finalizando, foram escutados 17 enlutados que contam sobre sua experiência de
perda, fundamentando a importância de nos abrirmos para questão, do sentido de ser
humano. Este trabalho pretende contribuir para a compreensão da religiosidade como
pertencente a psique humana e como a existência do indivíduo é permeada por crenças,
símbolos e atitudes religiosas que permitem integrar a morte em sua história mas,
principalmente, resgatar e valorizar a vida
