Previous issue date: 2000-08-28 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / Este estudo foi realizado na região limítrofe ao Parque Estadual de Ibitipoca, na comunidade rural de Rancharia, que dista 10 km da referida unidade de conservação e 34 km da sede do município de Lima Duarte, na região da Zona da Mata do Estado de Minas Gerais. O objetivo do trabalho foi testar a metodologia de planejamento do ecoturismo, para se obter um zoneamento ecoturístico para a região trabalhada. A referida metodologia foi desenvolvida pela The Ecoplannete Institute (1994), do Canadá, difundida no Brasil na Fazenda Intervales, em São Paulo, para 28 consultores brasileiros. Como resultado primário, obteve-se o comprometimento dos protagonistas da comunidade rural de Rancharia, interessados em desenvolvê-la ambiental e socialmente, com a afirmação da missão e o estabelecimento dos objetivos que nortearam todo o trabalho. Como resultado secundário, foram feitos o levan- tamento e o inventário dos recursos ambientais, sociais e históricos, entre outros, com potencialidade para desenvolver produtos padronizados sob a ética da atividade. Como resultado terciário, foram utilizados os limites de mudanças aceitáveis como uma técnica para caracterizar e monitorar os possíveis impactos socioambientais negativos da atividade ecoturística. Como resultado quaternário, a pesquisa de mercado possibilitou o reconhecimento das tendências dos visitantes na região e as possibilidades em programar produtos e roteiros de viagens que inovem as experiências dos viajantes aventureiros, com maior qualidade de informações sobre a região de Rancharia. O entrelaçamento de todos esses resultados possibilitou o zoneamento da região, que permitirá desenvolver diretrizes de produtos com padrões definidos de sustentabilidade. / This work was carried out in the region of the boundaries of the "Parque Estadual de Ibitipoca", in the rural community named Rancharia, located 10 km from that conservation unit 34 km from de main kown of the municipality, Lima Duarte, in the "Zona da Mata" region of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The objective of the work was to test the ecotourism planing methodology to obtain an ecotouristic zoning for the region. This methodology was developed by the Ecoplannete Institute (1994) of Canada, and was introduced in Brazil at the "Fazenda Intervales", in São Paulo State, for 28 Brazilian consultants. As a first result, the commitment of the leaders of the rural community of Rancharia, interested in environmental and social development was obtained; their statement of the goals and establishment of objectives directed all of the work. As a second result, a survey and an inventory of the environmental, social and historical resources were made, among others, viewing a professional development of standardized products. As a third result, the limits as acceptable changes were defined which were used as a technique to characterize and monitore the possible negative social and environmental. As a fourth result, the market research helped to acknowledge the profile as visitors in the region, and the possibilities of programming products and travelling routes, to enlarge the experience of adventurer travellers, offring better information quality of the region of Rancharia. The integration of all those results allowed the zoning of the region, which will allow the development of patterns for products whith definite sustainable standards.
