Previous issue date: 2012-09-29 / Pesquisas revelam que o Brasil é um dos países onde mais avançam o conceito de sustentabilidade e a aplicação de tecnologias capazes de oferecer alternativas eficientes de desenvolvimento sustentável. É, também, um dos países onde os desafios de superação da miséria são mais evidentes. Refletindo sobre essas contradições, elaboramos este estudo, com o objetivo de selecionar indicadores, a partir dos diferentes sistemas já existentes no Brasil e no mundo, de políticas públicas educacionais, no contexto do desenvolvimento sustentável, inter-relacionando-as com o desenvolvimento sustentável e a cidadania ativa, com base na percepção dos diferentes atores sociais. Com esse intuito, realizou-se pesquisa descritiva, de caráter exploratório, com sessenta e sete (67) professores e/ou gestores de instituições públicas de ensino de dezessete (17) estados brasileiros em 2011, com base nos estudos da UNESCO (2003), de Martins e Cândido (2008) e Green (2009). Também se recorreu à análise documental e a entrevistas com gestores de programas educacionais no município de Campina Grande/PB. Os resultados revelaram que, quanto mais efetivas forem as políticas públicas, em geral, e as políticas públicas educacionais, em particular, mais desenvolvimento de forma sustentável e mais cidadãos ativos estarão sendo socialmente construídos. Foram evidenciadas fortemente as correlações e a importância entre os indicadores de Políticas Públicas Educacionais, Sustentabilidade e Cidadania Ativa. / Research shows that Brazil is a country where more advance the concept of sustainability and the application of technologies that provide efficient alternatives for sustainable development. And is also one of the countries where the challenges of overcoming poverty are more pronounced, reflecting the contradictions, we developed this study in order to select indicators from the different systems existing in Brazil and worldwide, public policy education in the context of sustainable development, inter-relating them with sustainable development and active citizenship, from the perspective of different social actors. To this end, we carried out descriptive exploratory sixty-seven (67) teachers and / or managers of public institutions of seventeen (17) Brazilian states in 2011, based on studies of UNESCO (2003), AND MARTINS Candide (2008), GREEN (2009). As well as documentary analysis and interviews with managers of educational programs in the city of Campina Grande / PB. The results revealed that the most effective public policies are in general the public educational policies, in particular, development of more sustainable and more socially active citizens are being built. As well, showed strong correlations between the indicators and the importance of Public Policy Education, Sustainability and Active Citizenship.
