A presente Dissertação de Mestrado tem por objetivo investigar a arquitetura uruguaia, mais precisamente a chamada “arquitetura reativa” da cidade de Montevidéu. O conceito de “arquitetura reativa” será extensamente abordado no corpo deste trabalho, sendo que sua delimitação e definição se incorpora às próprias conclusões da dissertação. O recorte se dá a partir dos anos 50 até o advento da arquitetura contemporânea, através do estudo de caso de seis exemplares arquitetônicos de relevância, distribuídos por período e cujas características de estilo, imagem e inserção no contexto urbano correspondem às correntes Moderna, Pós- Moderna e Contemporânea. / This Masters Degree Dissertation has the objective of investigating the Uruguayan architecture, precisely the so called “reactive architecture” in the city of Montevideo. The concept of “reactive architecture” will be comprehensively approached within the body of this work, being its scope and definition added to the conclusions of this work itself. The work outlines the period between the 50’s and contemporary architecture, through studies of six relevant architectural examples distributed by period and whose style, image and urban context insertion characteristics correspond to the Modern, Post-modern and contemporary lines.
