A seguinte dissertação tem como indagação central as transformações ocorridas nas experiências dos trabalhadores de Porto Alegre durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial, centrando-se especificamente nas transformações da legislação do trabalho e no problema da alimentação do operariado urbano. Visando compreender as relações do proletariado porto-alegrense com Estado e burguesia como parte de uma complexa condição de estruturas e agentes, a pesquisa procura debater o período que vai de 1942 a 1945 como uma conjuntura específica onde repressão, direitos, propaganda, vigilância e disciplina fazem parte de uma demanda do regime do Estado Novo para ingressar no conflito mundial. Contudo, percebendo o operariado além das pretensões da ideologia trabalhista e dos anseios do empresariado, esse trabalho pretende demonstrar as nuances e contradições que encerram o período ditatorial e que abrem caminho para o período democrático brasileiro. / The following dissertation has its focus on the changes that occurred in the Porto Alegre working class experiences during the Second World War, centering it especifically of the transformations in the labor laws and in the problem of the alimentation of the urban workers. Trying to comprehend the relations that the proletariat establishes with State and bourgeoisie as part of a complex condition of structures and agents, this research seeks to debate the period that goes to 1942 to 1945 as a specific conjuncture where repression, rights, propaganda, vigilance and discipline make are all together in a demand of Estado Novo regime to enter in the World War. Nevertheless, perceiving the working class beyond the trabalhista ideology pretensions and the craving of the bourgeoisie, this paper intends to demonstrate the nuances and contradictions that close the dictatorial period and open the way to the democratic period in Brazil.
