O presente trabalho tem por objetivo o estudo sistemático da arquitetura de hotéis. Primeiramente faz uma abordagem histórica do hotel, especialmente de sua evolução a partir do século XIX, identificando as mais importantes manifestações programáticas e tipológicas, ligadas ao processo de transfomações sociais, tecnológicas e urbanísticas ocorridas. Em segunda lugar propõe uma classificação dos hotéis atuais, desdobrando-os em categorias e subcategorias segundo três critérios fundamentais: sítio de implantação, programa arquitetónico e tipologia. Por úiltimo, empreende, com base em parâmetros anteriomente estabelecidos, um estudo de casos na cidade de Florianópolis - SC, abrangendo algum dos principais estabelecimentos de hospedagem locais, com especial ênfase nos hotéis de férias ou resorts, por sua atual importância e forte tendência de expansão. / This dissertation intends to carry out the systmatic study of the hotel atchitecture. Fitst of all, it studies the historical development of the hotel, specially since the beginning of the 19th century, identifying most important programmatic and typological features, which can be associated to the process of social, technological and urban changes. Secondly, it tries to classify the hotels into classes and subclasses according to three main criteria: site, architectural pogram and typology. Finally, it undertakes an analysis of some of the main hotels in the city of Florianópolis - SC, based on certain pattems previously presented; such analysis places particular emphasis on the flourishing phenomenon of the resorts.
