O bairro Lomba do Pinheiro, em Porto Alegre, tem passado por intenso processo de reestruturação espacial. O presente trabalho busca enfocar tais transformações, especialmente a partir da década de 1960 até 2013. Esse período foi destacado por representar o marco de mudanças mais significativas no bairro, alterando sua característica predominantemente rural para um perfil urbano. Contudo, até chegar a esse quadro, foram resgatados antecedentes que viabilizaram o entendimento de como foi ocorrendo a ocupação e o modelo socioespacial da Lomba do Pinheiro. Para melhor embasar essa configuração em curso hoje, foi proposta uma retomada acerca dos modelos que permearam o planejamento urbano, bem como buscou-se uma comparação entre os diferentes Planos Diretores de Porto Alegre e como sua presença e ausência na regulação do bairro nos ajudam a compreender seu perfil socioeconômico e espacial. Para isso, alguns instrumentos, especialmente do PDDUA, nos elucidam sobre o adensamento e crescimento populacional e habitacional bastante crescente no bairro hoje. / The Lomba do Pinheiro District, located in Porto Alegre, has suffered an intense process of spatial restructuring. This paper focuses the transformations that occurred, specially from 1960 to 2013. This period was chosen since it represents the main changes that happened in the District, during which its predominantly rural feature changed to an urban profile. However, before that moment, some data were obtained to permit us to understand how the occupation and the socio-spatial model developed over the years in Lomba do Pinheiro. To better comprehend the current configuration of the District, some data concerning the models that were included in the urban planning were considered. A comparison among the different Planos Diretores de Porto Alegre was made and the impact of that regulation in the District was analyzed, to help us comprehend the District's socio-economical and spatial profile. To make this possible, some instruments, specially PDDUA, elucidate about the increasing processes of population and housing density and growth that are present nowadays in the District.
