Previous issue date: 1971-05 / CAPES / O presente trabalho, todo ele restrito à elasticidade linear, consta de 3 capítulos. No primeiro capítulo é feita tuna revisão do problema de Saint – Venant (torção e flexão de cilindros) e da necessidade de ser feita a chamada da “hipótese de Saint-Venant”. Apresenta-se ainda a generalização da hipótese, sob a foma de “Principio”, feita por Boussinesq e Love e os teoremas propostos por Stemberg e Zanaboni. No segundo capítulo, aborda-se o teorema de Toupin sabre a forma fraca do Princípio, fazendo-se uma análise dos resultados por ele obtidos. Nas conclusões são apresentados alguns resultados obtidos, ligados à foma fraca do Principio de Saint-Venant. / The present paper, cornpletely restricted to Linear Elasticity, is presented in three chapters. In the first chapter, a review on Saint-Venant' s problem (torsion and flexion of beams) is made and the necessity of the so-called "Saint-Venant's Hypotesis" is indicated. The generalizations of the hypotesis made by Boussinesq and Love, as well as Sernberg's and Zanaboni's Theorems, are discussed. In the seoond chapter, Toupin' s Theorem on the weak form of Saint-Venant Principle is presented and some of his results are discusses. Finally, the author presents some results related to the weak form of Saint-Venant's Principle obtained in his reoent research.
