Previous issue date: 2008-09-06 / This work investigates the presence of fictional elements in the Jornal Nacional
(Rede Globo), from the covering of news related to science and technology.
We investigate the reports on the subject circulated in the period of August to
December 2006. To undertake the analysis of this material, collected by
recording the news reports , a corpus of three reports of scientific content was
selected. .
The focus of analysis is the media discourse, built from the relationship
between image and text. In that sense, I take as theoretical reference
Charaudeau s analysis of media discourse (2006). The author s ideas about
scenic devices of media information help us to put the news in connection with
the film and understand its operations and discursive strategies used in their
configuration.
The study revealed that the report draws on various types of screenplays, using
the designative, figurative and visualities resources of the image to fit the
conditions of credibility and seduction of the purpose of information. This led us
to conclude that the mediation between scientist and public, between academia and non-scientific community, observed on the news reports studied is
characterized by the spectacularization of science, generated from the effects of
drama and the simplistic approaches. . While the researchers travelled a long
way to reach results, the reports explore just the practical and objective
application of scientific discoveries. / Esse trabalho investiga a presença de elementos ficcionais no Jornal Nacional
(Rede Globo), a partir da cobertura de notícias relacionadas à ciência e à
tecnologia. São investigadas as reportagens sobre o tema veiculadas no
período de agosto a dezembro de 2006. Para empreender a análise deste
material, coletado através de gravação dos programas, selecionei um corpus
constituído de três reportagens de divulgação científica.
O foco da análise é o discurso midiático, construído a partir da relação entre
imagem e texto. Nesse sentido, tomo como referencial teórico a análise do
discurso midiático, a partir da proposta de Charaudeau (2006). As idéias deste
autor a respeito dos dispositivos cênicos da informação midiática nos ajudam a
colocar o telejornal em relação com o cinema e a entender seu funcionamento
e as estratégias discursivas utilizadas em sua configuração.
O estudo revelou que a reportagem recorre a vários tipos de roteirizações,
utilizando os recursos designativos, figurativos e visualizantes da imagem para
satisfazer às condições de credibilidade e de sedução da finalidade da
informação.. Isso nos levou a concluir que a mediação que se dá no telejornal entre cientista e público, entre academia e comunidade não científica, se
caracteriza pela espetacularização da ciência, gerada a partir dos efeitos de
dramatização e pelo imediatismo das abordagens. Enquanto os pesquisadores
percorrem um longo caminho até chegarem aos resultados, as reportagens
exploram tão somente a aplicação prática e objetiva das descobertas
científicas.
