Previous issue date: 2017-05-29 / CAPES / O presente estudo tem como objetivo central, analisar a compreensão dos moradores do bairro de Redenção, no município de Vitória de Santo Antão – PE, sobre as ações de educação ambiental realizadas na comunidade. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, exploratório, com abordagem qualitativa, onde foi utilizado um roteiro de entrevista semiestruturado. A seleção dos participantes da pesquisa foi realizada nos locais específicos, que fizeram parte da área de abrangência das ações de educação ambiental realizadas pela Agência Municipal do Meio Ambiente da Vitória de Santo Antão - AMAVISA. A análise de conteúdo foi organizada, segundo a técnica de Bardin, em três etapas cronológicas:1. Pré-análise, 2. exploração do material e 3. Tratamento dos resultados, a inferência e a interpretação. Os resultados permitiram entender que a amostra de pesquisa avaliada é concordante na insatisfação com a descontinuidade da ação de educação ambiental da AMAVISA, bem como acredita que por conta dessa descontinuidade, a ação como um todo, de pouco ou nada, valeu, pois não foi capaz de fomentar na população local, uma conscientização efetiva sobre o meio ambiente. Além disso, sobre o conhecimento da população em relação à coleta seletiva e reciclagem, nota-se pouco conhecimento no geral, justamente o tema que foi eleito pela AMAVISA na ação de educação ambiental. / The present study has as main objective to analyze the understanding of the residents of the neighborhood of Redenção in the city of Vitória de Santo Antão - PE, on the environmental education actions carried out in the community. It is a descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach, where a semi-structured interview script was used. The selection of the participants of the research was carried out in the specific places that were part of the scope of the environmental education actions carried out by the Municipal Agency of the Environment of Vitória de Santo Antão - AMAVISA. Content analysis was organized, according to Bardin 's technique, in three chronological stages: 1. Pre-analysis, 2. exploration of the material and 3. Treatment of results, inference and interpretation. The results allowed us to understand that the research sample evaluated is consistent with the dissatisfaction with the discontinuity of the environmental education action of AMAVISA, and also believes that because of this discontinuity, the action as a whole was of little or nothing value, since it was not able to foment In the local population an effective awareness about the environment. In addition, on the knowledge of the population regarding selective collection and recycling, there is little knowledge in general, precisely the theme that was elected by AMAVISA in the environmental education action.
