Previous issue date: 2015-02-24 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior - CAPES / O presente trabalho tem por objeto de pesquisa o Grupo Escolar Bar?o de Mipibu/RN,
que est? localizado na cidade de S?o Jos? de Mipibu. Discute a utiliza??o da educa??o
como instrumento para a forma??o do imagin?rio republicano na sociedade norte-riograndense.
Definimos como recorte temporal o per?odo de 1909-1920. A escolha do
trabalho justifica-se pela sua import?ncia para a Hist?ria da Educa??o brasileira e local,
bem como para a Hist?ria Cultural e se estende aos estudos do cotidiano escolar e da
Hist?ria das Disciplinas escolares. A sua realiza??o aconteceu por meio da pesquisa
bibliogr?fica, com uma revis?o de estudos historiogr?ficos sobre a educa??o e o Brasil no
final do s?culo XIX e in?cio do s?culo XX. Como tamb?m pela an?lise documental, na
qual utilizamos as seguintes fontes: pr?dio do Grupo Escolar Bar?o de Mipibu,
Invent?rios de m?veis, Di?rios de classe, Termos de visitas dos Diretores de Instru??o e
Relat?rios dos diretores, Livro Nossa Hist?ria de Rocha Pombo, a legisla??o educacional,
mensagens do Congresso Legislativo, os Decretos de cria??o dos Grupos Escolares, o do
Bar?o de Mipibu e o do Grupo Modelo Augusto Severo, e com o seu Regimento Interno
e por fim, entrevistas com ex-alunos da d?cada de 1950. O referido estudo se encontra
inserido na Hist?ria da educa??o e como aporte te?rico para nos auxiliar na an?lise das
fontes sobre no estudo do imagin?rio, buscamos nos apoiar em Jacques Le Goff (1994),
Bronislaw Bazcko (1985), Cornelius Castoriadis (1982). Ao t?rmino do trabalho foi
poss?vel chegar ? compreens?o de que o governo republicano encontrou no ?mbito
educacional, um meio de disseminar os seus ideais e de colabora??o para a constru??o do
imagin?rio social da rep?blica, a qual estava se constituindo no in?cio do s?culo XX. / The purpose of this study is to search the school group Bar?o de Mipib?/RN, which is
located in a city called S?o Jos? de Mipib?. The aim of this work is to discuss about the
use of education as a tool for the formation of the republican imaginary society norte-riograndense.
We defined a period from 1909 through 1920. The choice of this work is about
how this could be important to the Brazilian History of Education and local, as well as
for Cultural History and extends to studies of everyday school life and history of school
disciplines. Their achievement was through bibliography search and document analysis.
The first was through a review of bibliography on the national and local historiography
about the School Groups and productions of the Brazilian Republic. The last one, through
the following sources, namely, just the same building of the school group Bar?o de
Mipib?, furniture inventories, class daily, terms of visits of Education Directors and
reports of the Directors, book Our History by Rocha Pombo, Educational Legislation,
Legislative Congress posts, the decree of creation of School Groups, in particular Bar?o
de Mipib? and the Group Model Augusto Severo, as well as the internal statute and
finally, interviews with Alumni of the 50s. The study is inserted in the history of education
and as the theoretical to assist in the analysis of sources on the imagination of the study,
we looked for support in Jacques Le Goff (1994), Bronislaw Bazcko (1985), Cornelius
Castoriadis (1982). At the end of this work it was possible to get the understanding that
the Republican government found in the educational Field, one way to spread their ideals
and collaboration in building the social Imaginary of the republic, which was constituted
in the early twentieth century.
