Previous issue date: 2013 / Esta dissertação tem como objetivo apresentar e refletir sobre formas de militâncias que propõem que alteremos nossa maneira de lidar com os animais não humanos, questionando, dessa forma, o antropocentrismo. Para tanto, elucido e discuto as trajetórias que levaram meus interlocutores a militar pelos animais e a produção de teorias e conceitos que se formam através das relações entre os ativistas nos contextos da minha pesquisa de campo, em Florianópolis. Refletir antropologicamente sobre nossas relações com os animais é uma, das diversas possibilidades de repensar esse mundo em crise. Perceber os animais não humanos enquanto sujeitos morais sugere que repensemos nossa forma de viver e ampliemos nossa percepção em relação à espécies que antes não estavam na "pauta do dia". Esse trabalho é fruto de uma pesquisa com pessoas que pensam e militam justamente em relação a essa transformação: devemos, segundo eles, rever nossa forma de pensar a natureza, em especial os animais. Aproximando-nos de espécies distintas das nossas, levando em consideração os animais enquanto sujeitos morais, estaremos, dizem, trabalhando para que o mundo das próximas gerações seja um mundo mais justo, não antropocêntrico, pois terá como centro de preocupações todos os seres sencientes e não apenas o ser humano.<br> / Abstract : This dissertation has the goal of presenting and reflecting about the modes of militancy that propose we should alter our ways of dealing with non-human animals, thus, questioning anthropocentrism. In order to do that, I discuss and throw light upon the events that influenced my interlocutors to fight in defense of animals and the development of theories and concepts that result from the relationship these activists have with each other in the context of my field research in Florianópolis. Reflecting anthropologically about our relationship with animals is one of the many possible ways to rethink this world in crisis. To understand non-human animals as moral subjects we should rethink our way of life and widen our understanding of species that were not an item in our agendas before. This work is the outcome of a research done with people that think and fight exactly for this transformation: we should, according to them, revisit our ways of thinking about nature, especially about animals. As we bring ourselves closer to species that are distinct from our own and understand animals as moral subjects, we are, in their view, working towards a more just world for the next generations; a world that is not anthropocentric since it will be centered around a concern for all sentient beings and not just for human beings.
