293410.pdf: 1165880 bytes, checksum: 57590b0c210923c8a9b636e211f86cfc (MD5) / O presente estudo busca historicizar a constituição das duas instituições responsáveis pela manutenção da ordem na Capital catarinense - o Corpo de Segurança e a Prefeitura de Polícia - e sua dinâmica de convivência durante os primeiros anos republicanos. Marcaria a relação entre as duas instituições ser a Prefeitura receptora de "mão de obra" do Corpo de Segurança: a repartição policial tinha na base de seu trabalho os soldados daquela instituição militar. Outro ponto da análise são os próprios agentes da ordem. Oriundos das classes populares, ingressantes das fileiras militares do Corpo de Segurança, deslocados para a autoridade do Prefeito de Polícia, recai sobre eles a exigência de um comportamento modelar, ao qual constantemente não correspondem, sendo comumente marcados como inadequados para a função que exercem. Buscou-se, entretanto, observar os atos indisciplinares, a resistência a adequação comportamental e a prática de subversão dos valores deveriam defender para além das críticas realizadas pelas citadas instituições, mas enquanto usos possíveis da condição que detinham. / This research is dedicated to the analyse the Police activity and the establishment of urban order on the streets of Florianopolis in the beginning of the Republican period.We opted for an approach that, in addition to verifying the institutional clashes involving the police apparatus in the period, allowed to observe the composition of its front line: the men who constituted the police institution. The raids to the establishment of an orderly and exemplary police was often frustrated by the negative behavioral framework, observed through several undisciplined acts committed by the men who should be enforcing the order. Moreover, strove to police action in the streets, observing the formation of an orientation for the surveillance and control especially on daily lifeand practices of the working poor. At the intersection of these two points, this study allocates the image of police as coming from the group which oversees and with whom it shares the same practices, seeking to provide these men nuances of interpretation, in addition to focus only in its repressive role.
