Previous issue date: 2011-10-28 / The main objective of this work was to search and to analyze the architectural perception of the community of UFSCar campus working space, composed by its teachers and administrativetechnician personnel, with the intention to subsidize the elaboration of future studies and projects of architecture in the University with a more effective participation of these users. Based on a bibliographical research and a theoretical reference developed, several attributes of the working space were defined for a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the users perception. To this purpose, a research with the university community was carried on the internet by the application of questionnaires on the related attributes, being previously associated to each one a scale of values. Besides the evaluation of the attributes of the working space, which is understood as where the users spend most of their time, the questionnaires also approached other aspects as sex, age, level of education, department/sector, time at the working place and at the University, with the objective of getting to know the respondents profile. Interviews had also been carried on the internet with architects who worked as directors and/or related to planning and project in the University sectors responsible for these activities, since 1976 until now. The answers of the questionnaires had been systemized, statistically treated and duly analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The architects answers were analyzed qualitatively. As the result of the research with the users, it was verified that their perception of the working space is diversified, similar in certain aspects and very divergent in others. The reason is that ambient conditions are also different depending on the work place and some people are in much better places than others. The youngest users and those who work in the Center of Human Sciences clearly tended to be more negative in their perception. The result of the interviews with the architects shows the importance of planning and project processes in an integrated and continuous way, so that the quality of the constructed space is guaranteed throughout the years, independent of circumstantial factors that can influence the expansion of the University in the short-term. It is essential to give an answer to the urgent problems without losing the perspective and objectives in long-term. / Este trabalho teve por objetivo principal pesquisar e analisar a percepção arquitetônica do espaço de trabalho da comunidade do campus de São Carlos da UFSCar, composta por seus usuários docentes e técnicos administrativos, visando subsidiar a elaboração de futuros estudos e projetos de arquitetura na Universidade com uma participação mais efetiva desses usuários. Com base em pesquisa bibliográfica e no referencial teórico posteriormente desenvolvido, foram definidos diversos atributos do espaço de trabalho para análise tanto qualitativa quanto quantitativa de sua percepção pelos usuários. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa via Internet junto à comunidade, aplicando-se questionários sobre os referidos atributos, aos quais foi previamente atribuída uma escala de valores. Além objetivar a valoração dos atributos do espaço de trabalho, entendido como o local onde os usuários passam a maior parte do tempo, os questionários abordaram também outros aspectos - sexo, idade, nível de escolaridade, setor/ departamento, tempo no local de trabalho e tempo na Universidade, visando se conhecer o perfil dos respondentes. Foram realizadas também entrevistas via Internet com Arquitetos que exerceram funções de direção e/ou ligadas ao planejamento e projeto junto aos setores da Universidade responsáveis por essas atividades, desde 1976 até o presente. As respostas dos questionários foram sistematizadas, tratadas estatisticamente e devidamente analisadas qualitativa e quantitativamente. As respostas das entrevistas com os arquitetos foram analisadas qualitativamente. Como resultado da pesquisa com os usuários, verifica-se que a sua percepção sobre o espaço de trabalho é bem diversificada, similar em certos aspectos e bastante divergente em outros. Isto porque as condições ambientais também variam de um local para outro, existindo pessoas que possuem locais de trabalho contrastantemente melhores que os de outras. Os usuários mais novos e os usuários que trabalham no Centro de Ciências Humanas tenderam claramente a uma percepção mais negativa. O resultado das entrevistas com os Arquitetos mostra a importância do processo de planejamento e projeto de forma integrada e contínua para que seja garantida a qualidade do espaço construído ao longo do tempo, independente de fatores conjunturais que possam influenciar na expansão de curto prazo da Universidade. É fundamental dar resposta aos problemas urgentes sem perder a perspectiva e os objetivos de longo prazo.
