Previous issue date: 2007 / A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar o impacto do vernáculo sobre o uso do ONDE na escrita monitorada, mais precisamente detectar quais usos tipicamente vernaculares do ONDE já podem ser encontrados na escrita monitorada. Para tanto, utilizou-se um corpus constituído por 223 textos produzidos por estudantes dos semestres finais do curso de Letras e por professores de língua portuguesa do ensino fundamental e médio da rede pública e privada do Distrito Federal e de Goiás. A pesquisa tem como fundamento a lingüística funcional e a sociolingüística variacionista. Utilizou-se, do quadro funcionalista, as teorias da lingüística e semântica cognitivas e o paradigma da gramaticalização. A partir dos dados extraídos do corpus foram detectados 8 valores semânticos para o ONDE distribuídos ao longo da escala de abstratização ESPAÇO > TEMPO > TEXTO. No ponto ESPAÇO da escala, encontram-se os valores locativo concreto, locativo abstrato, possessivo e instrumental. No ponto TEMPO, está o valor temporal. No ponto TEXTO, localizam-se os valores fórico textual, operador argumentativo e marcador discursivo. A ocorrência do ONDE com outros valores semânticos que não o de locativo concreto (o único abonado pela tradição gramatical) na escrita monitorada aponta para o seguinte postulado: uma vez constatado que usos lingüísticos não prescritos pelas gramáticas normativas ocorrem sistematicamente nas manifestações lingüísticas das camadas mais letradas deve se proceder a uma intervenção consciente na prescrição gramatical, efetuando-se a inclusão de tais itens na norma-padrão. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The present research has the objective to investigate the impact of the vernacular in the use of the term ONDE in the monitoring writing, mainly to detect what are the typically vernacular uses of the ONDE that can be already found in the monitoring writing. For that, it was used the corpus constituted by 223 texts that were produced by students from the last semesters of the Letters course and by Elementay and High School Portuguese Language teachers from Distrito Federal and Goiás public and private schools. The research has as base the functional linguistics and the variational sociolinguistics. It was used, from the functionalist framework, the cognitive linguistics and cognitive semantics theories and the ‘gramaticalization’ paradigm. Based on the data which were extract from the corpus, We detected 8 semantic values for the ONDE distributed throughout the abstractization scale SPACE > TIME > TEXT. In the SPACE position of the scale, there are found the values concrete locative, abstract locative, possessive and instrumental. In the TIME position, it is the value temporal. In the TEXT position there are the values textual foric, argumentative operator and discursive marker. The ONDE occurrence with other semantic values that were not the concrete locative (the only one that is warranted by the grammatical tradition) in the monitoring writing points to the following postulate: once we saw the evidence that linguistic uses do not prescribed by the normative grammars which occur systematically in the linguistic manifestations of the more literate social classes, must be proceeded to a conscientious intervention in the grammatical lapsing, effecting it inclusion of this items in the standard-norm.
