Previous issue date: 2008-12-12 / A frustração é compreendida como um estado emocional negativo que se tem mostrado relevante na compreensão da forma com que o indivíduo reage para superar os problemas. Apesar da importância deste fenômeno, não há relatos de instrumentos de medida que possam dar conta suficiente do construto. Dessa forma, o objetivo geral deste trabalho é construir um instrumento de medida de reação à frustração nas versões objetiva (TRFO) e projetiva (TRFP) e propor um perfil de reação à frustração. O Estudo 1 apresenta a construção do teste projetivo e a proposta de categorização do teste. O Estudo 2 apresenta o processo de construção do teste objetivo. O Estudo 3 investiga a validade do TRFO. O Estudo 4 investiga a validade preditiva das reações de frustração em comparação com a teoria dos Cinco Grandes Fatores (CGF). Todos os estudos forneceram evidencias a favor da validade do TRFO. Um perfil de reação à frustração foi proposto e validado, mostrando que há relação entre as reações de frustração e as características de personalidade. No geral, o presente estudo mostrou a importância de novas pesquisas na área, identificando um novo campo de pesquisa, no Brasil. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / Frustration is comprehended as a negative emotional state which has shown its relevance in understanding the way in which individuals react to overcome problems. Despite the importance of this phenomenon, there are no reports of measuring instruments that may give sufficient account of the construct. Thus, the general aim of this study is to build a measuring instrument of reaction to frustration in two versions, i.e., a projective (TRFP) and an objective one (TRFO) and also offer a profile of reaction to frustration. Study 1 shows the construction of the projective form, as well as a proposed categorization of the test. Study 2 shows the process of building the objective test. Study 3 investigates the validity of TRFO. Study 4 investigates the predictive validity of the reactions to frustration in comparison to the theory of the Big Five Factors (BFF). All studies provided evidence in favor of the validity of TRFO. A profile of reaction to frustration was proposed and validated, showing that there is a link between the reactions of frustration and characteristics of personality. Overall, this study showed the importance of further research in the field, identifying a new field of research in Brazil.
