Previous issue date: 2007 / Esta é uma pesquisa sobre como as relações reciprocitárias se manifestam em quatro cooperativas de catadores de materiais recicláveis, levando em conta suas interações com a organização de trabalho e com as instâncias democráticas. Para esse estudo, foram utilizados dois referenciais teóricos principais: o paradigma da dádiva, referencial teórico que se propõe a entender as dinâmicas sociais a partir das relações que se estabelecem através da tríplice obrigação da dádiva – dar, receber e retribuir –; e a psicodinâmica do trabalho, que procura compreender, a partir da análise do confronto dos sujeitos com a organização do trabalho, como se constrói a subjetividade do trabalhador. Ao contextualizar as questões do lixo e da reciclagem, da posição social ocupada pelos catadores e da Economia Solidária como alternativa de integração social, nota-se que a situação vivida pelos catadores de materiais recicláveis está evidentemente marcada pela exclusão e o estigma social, além da vulnerabilidade econômica. A organização em um Empreendimento de Economia Solidária objetiva, então, recuperar o tecido social do qual o catador faz parte a partir dos valores de solidariedade, cooperação, democracia e igualitarismo. A pesquisa realizada nas quatro cooperativas mostra a situação de precariedade dos catadores, as formas de organização das cooperativas, o funcionamento das instâncias democráticas e as relações reciprocitárias existentes entre os catadores, entre estes e a liderança e dos empreendimentos com atores externos à cooperativa. Percebe-se que a mobilização subjetiva dos catadores está intimamente ligada à maneira como essas relações são tecidas e depende, sobretudo, da possibilidade da construção coletiva de um corpo deontológico e normativo que regule as relações de trabalho e permita a cooperação entre os sujeitos envolvidos. Além disso, vêse que o estabelecimento de redes que privilegiem a construção de elos horizontais permite o fortalecimento mútuo e a manutenção da autonomia dos empreendimentos. __________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This is a research about how reciprocity relations take place in four recyclable materials collectors cooperatives, considering their interactions with the work organization and the democratic instances. For this study, two main theoretical references were used: the gift paradigm, theoretical reference that proposes to understand the social dynamics and the relations that take place through the triple gift obligation – to give, to receive and to retribute – and the psychodynamics of work, that aims to understand how the worker subjectivity is built, through the analysis of the confrontation between subjects and work organizations. When the questions of waste and recycling, social position occupied by the collectors and the Solidary Economy as social integration alternative are contextualized, we can note that the situation lived by recyclable material collectors is marked by exclusion and social stigma, besides the economic vulnerability. The organization in a Solidary Economic Enterprise aims, therefore, to recover the social tissue which the collector belongs through values as solidarity, cooperation, democracy and equality. The research accomplished in four cooperatives shows the situation of precariousness of collectors, the cooperative organization forms, the democratic instances functionality and the reciprocity relations among the collectors, between them and the leadership and between enterprises and other external actors. It is noted that the subjective mobilization is closely linked to the manner how those relations are built and depends on, over all, the possibility of collective construction of a deontological and normative body that rules the work relations and permits the cooperation among the subjects who take part of it. Besides that, it is seen that the establishment of networks which privilege the construction of horizontal links permits the mutual empowerment and the maintenance of enterprises autonomy.
