Previous issue date: 2009 / O presente trabalho visa caracterizar a identidade local de uma cidade por meio da análise da configuração do espaço mediante os aspectos estético, topoceptivo e sociológico de desempenho da arquitetura. Aqui identidade será tratada como a qualidade do lugar que o caracteriza como um elemento único, diferenciado dos demais em todos os sentidos, enquanto que a arquitetura da cidade será tratada como um artefato que impacta a vida de seus usuários e o meio ambiente, podendo-se portanto analisar a forma-espaço da cidade por vários aspectos dentre eles o estético, o topoceptivo e o sociológico, utilizados aqui para caracterizar a identidade de uma cidade. O aspecto estético analisa se o lugar é belo, enquanto que o topoceptivo analisa se o lugar oferece boas condições para a orientabilidade e o sociológico analisa se a configuração espacial apresenta condições desejáveis de indivíduos ou grupos se locomoverem por ela ou freqüentarem os lugares públicos. Utilizar-se-á como estudo de caso a cidade de Nova Friburgo, localizada no estado do Rio de Janeiro. O trabalho lidará com variáveis formal-espaciais e variáveis sociais. As variáveis formal-espaciais dizem respeito à configuração dos cheios (edifícios) e vazios (lugares públicos) e serão trabalhadas mediante a utilização de categorias analíticas dos três aspectos de desempenho da arquitetura escolhidos. As variáveis sociais dizem respeito à avaliação, à percepção e à apropriação do espaço, por seus usuários e serão trabalhadas mediante informações retiradas de questionário aplicado à população. Acredita-se que a caracterização da identidade e sua posterior valorização podem contribuir para a melhoria do espaço público, e para sua requalificação quando degradados. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The present work looks for to characterize the local identity of a city through the analysis of the configuration of the space by means of the aesthetic, topoceptive and sociological aspects of the performance of the architecture. The term identity must be interpreted in this work, as the quality of a place that characterizes its as a unique element, differentiated by the others in all the directions, while the term architecture of the city will be treated as a device that influences the life of its users and the environment, being able therefore to analyze the form-space of the city for some aspects amongst them: the aesthetic, the topoceptive and the sociological, used here to characterize the identity of a city. The aesthetic aspect analyzes if the place is beautiful, while the topoceptive analyzes if the place offers good conditions to the orientation and finally, the sociological analyzes if the spatial configuration presents desirable conditions to individuals or groups to move themselves for it or to frequent the public places. It will be used like case study Nova Friburgo, a city located in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The work will deal with these variables: space, form and social. The space and form variables analyze the configuration of fulls (builds) and empties (public places) and will be worked by means of the use of analytical categories of the three aspects of performance of the architecture chosen. The social variables treats the evaluation, perception and appropriation of the space by its users and will be worked by means of information removed of questionnaire applied to the population. Its believed that the characterization of the identity and its posterior valuation can contribute for the improvement of the public space, and for its requalification when degraded.
