Previous issue date: 2009-08-10 / Este trabalho investiga as vicissitudes do complexo de Édipo da menina e sua relação com a construção da feminilidade na teoria de Freud, a partir de uma incursão teórica referente ao assunto em sua obra. Foram utilizadas também algumas contribuições de autores contemporâneos, com destaque a Jacques Lacan, que enfatiza a noção de falta de objeto como central na estruturação do psiquismo. A pesquisa inicia com a abordagem da (re)descoberta da sexualidade infantil por Freud, mais especificamente do texto Três ensaios sobre a sexualidade, no qual Freud já antecipa a noção de um tornar-se mulher. Examina ainda o trajeto freudiano no desenvolvimento do constructo do Complexo de Édipo, que se tornou um dos mais importantes e controversos da teoria psicanalítica. E verificou que as especificidades do complexo edipiano da menina foram gradualmente descobertas a partir do gradual abandono da crença na existência de uma simetria nos complexos de meninos e meninas. Foi averiguado que o resultado proeminente do complexo de Édipo, tanto para meninos e meninas, é uma identificação à imagem fálica paterna. A pesquisa prossegue investigando a descoberta freudiana da existência de uma longa e forte relação pré-edipiana da menina com a mãe, que representou uma verdadeira revolução nos estudos da sexualidade feminina. O trabalho mostra, por fim, que a travessia do complexo edipiano na menina é fundamental no sentido de fornecer-lhe as bases para o advento como sujeito e uma identificação sexual, mas não garante a saída rumo à feminilidade. Daí a conclusão de que a feminilidade é um percurso repleto de meandros, um devir, um tornar-se, em constante construção. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This research investigates the vicissitudes of the Oedipus complex of the girl and its relationship with the construction of femininity in Freud’s theory, from a theoretical study of this subject in his works. It also uses some contributions from contemporary authors, especially Jacques Lacan, which emphasizes the notion of lack of object as central in the structuring of the psyche. The research begins with the approach of the (re)discovery of infantile sexuality, more specifically of the text Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality, in which Freud anticipates the notion of becoming a woman. It also examines the path of Freud in the developmente of the concept of the Oedipus complex, which became one of the most important and controversial subjects of psychoanalytic theory. The specificities of the girl´s Oedipal complex were perceived by Freud as he gradually abandoned the belief in the existence of a simmetry in the complexes of boys and girls. It was found that the outstanding result of the Oedipus complex, for both boys and girls, is an identification with the paternal phallic image. The research continues investigating the Freudian discovery of the existence of a long and strong pre-Oedipal relation of the girl with her mother, which represented a revolution in the studies of female sexuality. At last, this work demonstrates that the passage through the Oedipus complex is crucial to provide the girl with the foundations for the emergence as a subject and with a sexual identity, but it does not guarantee an exit toward femininity. Hence, it concludes that femininity is a journey full of intricacies, a ‘becoming’, in constant construction.
