Previous issue date: 2009 / Este trabalho procurou investigar potencialidades e limites do uso da telenovela para discutir direito de cidadania com jovens do primeiro ano do ensino médio. Para realizar a investigação, combinaram-se pesquisas quantitativa e qualitativa. A coleta de dados iniciou-se com aplicação de questionário e foi complementada com o grupo focal, a fim de aprofundar as questões em torno da temática direito de cidadania. A pesquisa documental também foi utilizada para a análise curricular das disciplinas do ensino médio responsáveis por discutir direito de cidadania em sala de aula. Pôde-se observar a necessidade de se promover mais discussões em torno do tema direito de cidadania em sala de aula, bem como de se ativar o espaço das disciplinas para promover essas discussões entre professores e alunos. Por outro lado a utilização de cenas de telenovelas nos grupos focais revelou o potencial das cenas de ficção para desencadear discussões sobre o contexto real e motivar o estudo de temáticas de direito de cidadania envolvidas nas mesmas. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This study sought to investigate the potential and limits of the use of the telenovela to discuss right of citizenship to young people the first year of high school. To conduct the investigation, have combined quantitative and qualitative research. Data collection began with a questionnaire and was supplemented by focus groups to explore the issues around the theme of citizenship law. The desk research was also used for the analysis of the curricular subjects in school responsible for discussing the right of citizenship in the classroom. It was observed the need to promote further discussion on the subject right of citizenship in the classroom as well as to activate the space of disciplines to promote such discussions between teachers and students. On the other hand the use of scenes from operas in the focus groups revealed the potential of drama scenes to trigger discussions about the real context and motivate the study of issues of citizenship right behind them.
