Foram realizadas coletas mensais de março/2008 a fevereiro/2010 em seis transectos localizados nas regiões “inshore” (5, 10 e 15m de profundidade) e “offshore” (25, 35 e 45m) na região de Macaé, litoral norte do estado do Rio de Janeiro (22o 22’ S , 41o 46’ O). A salinidade e temperatura de fundo, a matéria orgânica e o tipo de sedimento em cada transecto também foram amostrados. As amostragens foram realizadas com um barco camaroneiro equipado com uma rede-de-arrasto de fundo do tipo “otter-trawl” por um período de 15 minutos cada arrasto. Empregou-se a análise de variância (Anova) para testar a variação da abundância entre anos, estações e transectos e aplicou-se a Regressão linear múltipla para verificar a influência dos fatores ambientais na abundância de A. longinaris. Para verificar se a proporção sexual diferiu de 1:1, o teste utilizado foi o qui-quadrado (X2) (p<0,05) e o teste t de “Student” para verificar se o tamanho diferiu entre os sexos. Aplicou-se a Correlação linear de Spearman (p<0,05) para testar a associação dos fatores ambientais com a frequência de fêmeas maduras e juvenis. As menores temperaturas foram registradas nos meses de primavera e verão para os dois anos de coleta. Foi capturado um total de 26.466 exemplares de A. longinaris e a maioria concentrou-se nos transectos de 10 a 35 metros e principalmente, nos meses de verão. Para as fêmeas, o menor tamanho (CC) encontrado foi de 6,0mm e o maior 38,3mm (17,01±3,97). Para os machos, o menor valor foi 6,0mm e o maior 35,0mm de carapaça (14,23±3,94). Indivíduos com tamanhos menores que 8,0... / The aim of the present study was to characterize the abundance, ecological distribution and population structure of the Artemesia longinaris shrimp Bate, 1888, focused on reproductive periods and juvenile recruitment. Monthly samples were carried out between March/2008 to February/2010 from six transects located at the inshore (5, 10 and 15m deep) and the offshore (25, 35 and 45m deep) regions in Macaé, northern coast of Rio de Janeiro state (22 O 22 'S, 41 46' W). The deep salinity and temperature, the organic matter and the sediment type from each transect was also showed. Samplings were carried out using a commercial fishery boat equipped with a otter-trawl nets during 15 minutes each trawl. ANOVA was used to test the abundance variation among years, seasons and transects. To determine the influence of environmental factors on the abundance of A. longinaris, multiple linear regression was applied. To verify whether the sex ratio differed from 1:1, the Chi square (X2) test was used (p <0.05) and the Student t test applied to check whether the size differed between the gender. To correlate environmental factors and frequency of mature females and juveniles, the Spearman linear correlation (p <0.05) was used. The lowest temperatures were recorded during spring and summer for both years. A total of 26,466 specimens of A. longinaris was captured and most concentred at 10 to 35 meters transects, especially in the summer time. The smallest and highest size found was 6.0 mm and 38.3 mm (17.01 ± 3.97) for female and 6.0 mm and 35.0 mm (14.23 ± 3.94) for male.
