Previous issue date: 1999 / Resumo: Nesta pesquisa leio e interrogo resumos das dissertações de mestrado e teses de doutorado produzidas no Brasil, de 1980 a 1995, nas faculdades de Letras / Lingüística, Biblioteconomia , Comunicações, Educação e Psicologia. O trabalho se compõe de duas partes. Na primeira, pretendo inventariar, analisar, descrever a trajetória de leitura no Brasil, enquanto campo de produção de conhecimentos, destacando: anos de defesa dos trabalhos; locais de produção; áreas de onde se originam as pesquisas; gênero/sexo dos orientadores e orientandos; e focos temáticos. Na segunda parte, ancorada em BAKHTIN (1997), tomo os resumos como um dos gêneros do discurso ligados à esfera acadêmica, com determinada finalidade e com certas condições específicas de produção. Recorrendo a CHARTIER (1996), interrogo os resumos como objetos possíveis de serem lidos, jogando com os protocolos de leitura inscritos pelo autor e editor nos próprios textos e pelas singularidades que apresentam a partir do suporte material em que aparecem (catálogos impressos e eletrônicos). Considerando que na história da leitura se encontram, se modulam, mutuamente, diferentes pontos de vista" tendências e teorias relacionadas com a esfera acadêmica, levanto as seguintes questões: Seria possível perceber um temário sobre Leitura que se manifesta de alguma maneira em perguntas essenciais nos títulos e nos resumos das dissertações e teses? Seria possível fazer um esforço de interrogar a história da produção acadêmica sobre Leitura, optando por ler apenas resumos dos trabalhos? O que significaria ler esse lugar ( catálogos), instituição de divulgação dos trabalhos, que muitas vezes é o único, já que a maioria das teses fica restrita à leitura de poucas pessoas? / Abstract: In this researeh I intend to read and question the abstracts of the Mastering Dissertations and Doctoring Thesis produced in Brazil trom 1980 to 1995, in Colleges of Letters/Linguistic, Biblioteconomy, Communications, Edueation e Psichology. The work is composed by two parts. In the first one, I intend to take the stock, analyse, deseribe the path of reading in Brazil, while a field of production of knowledge, by pointing out: years of justification of the works; loeation of produetion; areas where the researchs carne trom; gender/sex of orienting e orientated researehers; and thematie foeuses. In the seeond one, anehored in BAKHTIN (1997), I take the abstraets as a gender of speeeh related to the aeademie sphere, with a eertain objeetif and with certain speeifie eonditions of produetion. Having reeourse to CHARTIER (1996), I question the abstraets as objeets that ean be read, playing with the protoeols of reading inseribed by the author and by the editor in the texts and by the singularities presented by them, departing trom the material holder in wieh they appear (printed and eleetronie eatalogs). Considering that on the History of reading different points of view, visions of the world, trends and theories related with the academie sphere meet themselves, cross each other, modulate mutually, I ask the following questions: - Should it be possible to realize a set of themes about reading, whieh is showed someway in essential questions in the titles and in the abstracts of the thesis? - Should it be possible to make an effort of asking the History of academie production about reading, ehoosing to read only abstracts of the works? - What would be the meaning of reading this plaee (eatalogs), institution of divulgation of works, which is in many times the only one, since the majority of the thesis remains restrieted to the reading of only a few people? / Doutorado / Doutor em Educação
