Previous issue date: 1993 / Resumo: 0 atendimento à criança hospitalizada nos remete a uma variedade de questões a serem exploradas em diversos pontos que vão se ramificando. Trabalhar com crianças internadas em enfermaria pediátrica leva-nos a pensar sobre a organização da instituição hospitalar e sua trajetória na história; sobre a evolução dos conceitos de saúde e infância - que se intersectam na pediatria; sobre a questão da vida e da morte, da saúde e da doença e as diferentes formas de se vivenciar essas experiências, inerentes à nossa existência; sobre as relações de poder presentes no hospital que determinam os diversos comportamentos das pessoas que compõem a instituição. Nesse contexto de questões, nossa atenção foi orientada para a implementação e análise de um serviço de caráter recreativo-educacional numa enfermaria pediátrica, enquanto instância propiciadora do desenvolvimento das crianças hospitalizadas. A teoria histórico-cultural, com sua concepção de sujeito interativo que se constitui nas relações sociais, fundamentou o delineamento do serviço em implantação e a perspectiva de análise das experiências das crianças naquele espaço de atividades. Tais análises nos sugeriram que as crianças internadas podem se beneficiar largamente de experiências de aprendizagem enquanto hospitalizadas e que o internamento não impede que o fluxo de desenvolvimento dos pacientes tenha prosseguimento, sendo inclusive enriquecido pelas novas experiências no hospital / Abstract: Care to children while they are in hospital refers us to a variety of issues to be inquired in a number of further of shooting points. Working with children confined to a pediatric ward has led us to ponder over the hospital institutional, organization and its trajectory throughout history the evolution of the concepts on health and childhood, which are intersected in pediatrics the question of life and death, of health and disease, and the experiencing of these in so many and diversified ways, inherent in our lives and the relations of power present in a hospital, determining the behavioral diversity among those individuals that make the institution. In the above context of questions, our attention has been directed to the implementation and analysis of a pediatric ward service of a recreational and educational nature mainly aimed at developing the child while in hospital. The historic-cultural theory with its concept of interactive individuais establishing themselves in the social relations milieu has provided the grounds for outlining the service now under implementation and the perspective of analysis of the children¿s experiences within this area of activity. Such analysis has further suggested that the children can largely benefit from learning experiences while in the hospital and that their permanence in this getting will not prevent their development from being furthered and ay, in addition, enhance it / Mestrado / Psicologia Educacional / Mestre em Educação
