Previous issue date: 1999 / Resumo: Neste trabalho buscou-se compreender uma experiência em Educação Popular, no cenário dos anos 90. Falar em Educação Popular, hoje, é falar de uma perspectiva de Educação, cujo ponto de partida é a realidade social, tendo como objetivo o resgate à participação, rumo à construção de um projeto político de sociedade. Foi devido a crença de que a História não chegou ao fim, que grupos de Educação Popular continuam sobrevivendo, nos anos 90, contra a política neoliberal, a qual vem tentando se firmar como um quadro apocalíptico de final dos tempos; procurando construir-se como alternativa, a Educação Popular busca reconstruir um espaço para a educação de adultos. É importante lembrar àqueles que se comprometeram, ou se comprometerão com esta causa, que é preciso endereçar a esperança, nutrí-Ia com a troca, com a fundamentação teórica e a reelaboração de planos de ação, só assim, educador e educando, protagonistas da Educação Popular, no cenário dos anos 90, poderão continuar contribuindo para a construção de um mundo mais justo / Abstract: In this assinment we aimed the comprehension of an experience in popular education within the scene of the 1990s. Talking about popular education nowadays is the same as to deal with a perspective of education in which the starting-point is the social reality, having the rescue of the participation as the goal on the way to the construction of a political project of the society. Due to the belief that the history has not come to an end, the popular educacion groups keep surviving in the 90s, against a neoliberal politic which has been trying to settle as an apocalyptical frame of the end of the times. When trying to develop an alternative, the popular education seeks the rebuilding of a space for the adult education. It is important to remind those who have taken or will assume the commitment with the adult education cause, that it is necessary to address the hope, to nourish it with the reciprocity, the theoretical fundamentais and the redevelopment of plans of action and only then, the mentor and the pupil, protagonists of popular education within the scene of the 90s, will be able to contribute to the construction of a more just world / Mestrado / Mestre em Educação
