Previous issue date: 1994 / Resumo: Análise dos corpos sentados em urna escola pública de 10 grau, situando-os no espaço e tempo escolares; observando conflitos expressos no poder e não poder sentar,no dever de permanecer sentado,nos lugares escolhidos(ou não) para sentar-se, nas distâncias e aproximações, em relação aos outros e em certas relações com o espaço arquitetônico e com os arranjos dos objetos. Analisadas algumas relações sociais e mudanças culturais, históricas, envolvendo os corpos e o sentar, busca de possíveis significados de certos gestos e posições corporais, bem corno de tensões que envolvem as carteiras, os corpos, as prescrições cientificas, os costumes, as "boas maneiras" e o corpo sentado na escola / Abstract: Analysis of the seated bodies in a first grade public school, placing them in the school space and time; observing the conflicts present in the permission or not for seating; in the duty of staying seated; in the chosen (or not places to be seated, in the distances and approaches among each other, and in certain relationships with the architectonic space and with the disposition of the objects. It is analyzed some social relationships and cultural changes, historical, involving the bodies and the seating, searching the possible meanings of certain as tensions that gestures involve and corporal postures, as we 11 the desks, the bodies, the scientific prescriptions, the customs, the "good manners", and the seated body in the school / Mestrado / Ciencias Sociais Aplicadas à Educação / Mestre em Educação
