Previous issue date: 2014 / Resumo: As transformações promovidas na educação superior brasileira entre 1995 e 2010 são inegáveis. Entretanto, há muitas dúvidas sobre a postura adotada pelos governantes neste período e o resultado obtido por meio delas. Utilizando o portal da CAPES como ferramenta de busca, apresentamos e sistematizamos as características gerais das teses e dissertações produzidas entre 1995 e 2012 que se propuseram a investigar a história da educação superior nos governos Fernando Henrique Cardoso e Luís Inácio Lula da Silva. Dentre elas, analisamos e comentamos vinte trabalhos, destacando suas contribuições, referenciais utilizados e resultados alcançados. Alicerçados no materialismo histórico-dialético, realizamos um panorama da Ditadura Militar ao Governo Lula, dando ênfase às principais ações promovidas na educação superior. Através da pesquisa, notamos a existência de problemas na divulgação das produções científicas, bem como a inexistência de obras digitalizadas, o que reduz a possibilidade de debate, dificultando e atrasando a produção de conhecimento. Verificamos também, em alguns trabalhos, a ausência de comunicação entre seus autores e os conteúdos já existentes sobre o assunto, bem como em relação a outros campos do conhecimento. Constatamos o crescimento da oferta de vagas no segmento público e especialmente no privado em ambos os governos citados. No entanto, a qualidade de alguns cursos oferecidos é muito questionável, bem como o impacto sociocultural promovido na vida daqueles que os frequentam. Por fim, destacamos a difusão do vocabulário e ideologia empresariais na educação superior, bem como a insistência dos governos em apresentar dados meramente quantitativos a seu respeito / Abstract: The transformations made in brazilian higher education between 1995 and 2010 are incontestable. However, there are many doubts about the postures adopted by governors during this period and the result achieved through them. Having the CAPES portal as a searching tool, we presented and systematized the general characteristics of the theses and dissertations produced between 1995 and 2012 that meant to investigate the history of college education during the periods of government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso and Luís Inácio Lula da Silva. Among them, we analyzed and commented twenty works, detaching their contributions, applied references and the results that were achieved. Based on the historic-dialectical materialism, we made a scenery from the Military Dictatorship to Lula government, emphasizing the main actions made in college education. Throughout the research, we noted problems in publishing the scientific productions as well as the inexistence of digitized works, which reduces the possibility of debates, hampering and delaying the production of knowledge. We also noted in some works the absence of communication between their authors and the already existing contents about the matter, as well as other fields of knowledge. We evidenced the growing offer of vacancies in the public and particularly in the private sector in both mentioned governments. However, the quality of some offered courses is very questionable and so is the sociocultural impact promoted in the lives of those who attended them. At last, we pointed out the diffusion of entrepreneurship vocabulary and ideology in college education, as well the insistence of the governments in presenting merely quantitative data about it / Mestrado / Filosofia e História da Educação / Mestre em Educação
