Previous issue date: 2002 / Resumo: A presente dissertação tem o objetivo de investigar a forma pela qual o ato de ler textos em língua estrangeira se constitui numa situação pedagógica específica, qual seja, aulas de leitura em língua estrangeira (inglês) ministradas pelo autor dessa dissertação em uma instituição católica em Belo Horizonte. Procuramos também investigar se a religiosidade constitutiva desta situação pedagógica exerceu algum tipo de efeito na constituiçãodo ato de interpretação textual. Os resultados a que chegamos indicam que é no jogo histórico do discurso, isto é, no interdiscurso,que a interpretação se constitui.Mais especificamente,constatamos que é entre uma discursividade pedagógica e uma discursividade religiosa que a leitura de textos em língua estrangeira se configurou nas aulas que analisamos.Em relação às determinações
de sentido do discurso religioso católico, constatamos que a ideologia religiosa exerce efeitos relevantes na fonna pela qual os atos de leitura aqui investigados se constituem. Nossa análise indicou que, no tratamento da opacidade dos textos em língua estrangeira, a ideologia religiosa promove uma configuração específica tanto do autor quanto do texto: o
autor se configura como "consciência", enquanto que o texto se constitui como se fosse possuidor de uma verdade intrínsecaà letra: a verdade de Deus. Entretanto, pudemos vislumbrar o fato de que, apesar da constituição ideológica da
interpretação no interdiscurso, os sujeitos envolvidos na situação pedagógica analisada continuam colocando em cena significações novas e inesperadas, para além da determinação históricad e sentidos / Abstract: This thesis had the objective of investigating the constitution of foreign language reading acts in a specific pedagogical situation foreign language (English) reading classes taught by the author of this thesis in a catholic institution in Belo Horizonte.This study also investigated if the religiosity that constitutes this pedagogical situation had any kind of
effects on the constitution of the act of interpretation. The results of this study indicate that it is within the historical determination of discourse, that is, within the "interdiscourse", that the interpretation is constituted. More specifically, our analysis shows that it is "between" a pedagogical discourse and a religious one that the act of reading foreign texts is constituted in the classes investigated. Concerning the "catholic" determination of meaning, we found that the religious ideology has relevant effects on the constitution of the reading acts investigated.Our analysis shows that, in dealing with the opacity of texts written in a foreign language, the religious ideology promotes a certain configuration of both the author and the text: the author is constituted as "conscience", while the text is constituted as if the divine truth were intrinsic to its structure. However, we could note that, in spite of the ideological constitution of the interpretation within the "interdiscourse", the subjects involved in the pedagogical situation which we analyzed keep on producing new and unpredictable meaning, which go far beyond the historical determinationof signification / Mestrado / Ensino-Aprendizagem de Segunda Lingua e Lingua Estrangeira / Mestre em Linguística Aplicada
