Previous issue date: 2004 / Resumo: Este trabalho objetiva estudar a análise do discurso humorístico das piadas de casamento. Pretendemos, pela análise dessas piadas, entender o mal-estar, um certo sofrimento, que ronda a relação marido e mulher no contexto do casamento. Entendemos que o discurso humorístico, assim como qualquer outro, traz as marcas sócio-históricas ¿ as diversas manifestações culturais e ideológicas, valores arraigados que nele se manifestam e, por isso, aquilo que se diz nas piadas não pode, gratuitamente, ser deixado de lado. Sendo assim, nosso trabalho apresenta uma parte inicial em que expomos os aspectos teóricos que servem de apoio à análise do discurso humorístico. Primeiramente, fizemos uma leitura de alguns dos principais teóricos que se dedicaram, mesmo que sob os diferentes enfoques, à análise de piadas . Em seguida, apresentamos aspectos históricos da instituição do casamento, das teorias do contrato, do sistema de dotes e das relações de gênero que definem e moldam as regras de comportamento e os significados das representações sociais estabelecidas como diferenças entre o feminino e o masculino, com o objetivo de compreender a ordem do discurso que justifica o aparecimento das piadas.A parte final destina-se a análise das piadas. Subdividida em duas partes, fazemos, na primeira, a análise dos discursos da piadas mais antigas veiculadas em magazines femininos no período de 1924 a 1954. Na segunda parte, analisamos as piadas mais recentes (1999 a 2004) veiculadas em livros, revistas, internet... Na conclusão, estas partes se articulam com o propósito de mostrar que o discurso das piadas de casamento, embora reflitam as mudanças de valores sociais que marcam a instituição, operam, principalmente, com estereótipos que, por isso mesmo, contribuem para a manutenção de conceitos e preconceitos que marcaram/marcam as relações marido e mulher no contexto do casamento / Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyze the humor discourse in marriage jokes. Through its analysis we intend to understand the bad feeling, a certain suffering, that it is present in the relation husband and wife in the marriage context. We comprehend that the humor discourse, like any other, brings social and historical marks ¿ many cultural and ideological manifestations, rooted values that occur in them and, thus, what is said in the jokes cannot, for free, be ignored. Thus, our study presents an initial part in which we mention theoretical aspects that support the analysis of humor discourse. First, we have read some of the main scholars that dedicate their studies, even with different focus, to the analysis of jokes. Secondly, we have presented historical aspects of the marriage institution, of the contract or law theory, of marriage-portion system and of the gender relations that define and mould the behavior rules and the meanings of social representations established as differences between female and male, with the objective to comprehend the discourse order that justify the recurrence of the joke. The last part is designated to the analysis of the jokes. Divided in two parts, we have done in the first one the analysis of the discourse of the oldest jokes propagated in female magazines during the period of 1924 and 1954. In the second part we have analyzed the most recent jokes (during the period of 1999 and 2004) propagated in books, magazines, on the Internet¿ In the conclusion, these parts are articulated aiming to show that marriage joke discourses although reflecting social values changes that mark the institution, operate mainly with stereotypes that, because of this, contribute to the maintenance of concepts and prejudice that marked/mark the relations between husband and wife in marriage context / Doutorado / Linguistica / Doutor em Linguística
