Previous issue date: 2002 / Resumo: Esta pesquisa visa a se aprofundar em algumas das causas que incidem na tendência à retomada do objeto híbrido no campo das artes plásticas contemporâneas. Investigam-se a mistura de diferentes modelos e técnicas de representação culturalmente condicionados e os mecanismos psicossociais de adaptação do indivíduo às mudanças ocasionadas, no meio ambiente, pelas tecnologias ntropocêntricas. No atual contexto de crescente ínterdisciplinariedade, e devido ao acúmulo de informações disponíveis, decidiu-se delimitar o objeto de estudo àquelas regiões limítrofes das ciências humanas, que possibilitam um enfoque complementar. É o caso da antropologia, da etnografia, da história da arte e da psicologia. A pesquisa teve como alicerce teórico o estruturalismo antropológico (em especial o conceito de bricolagem), para o qual as outras disciplinas mencionadas convergiram como ramos. Essa opção trouxe duas conseqüências: primeiro, uma base teórica abrangente o suficiente para mapear o processo de retomada do objeto híbrido nas artes plásticas; segundo, uma objetivação desse perscrutar teórico na forma operacional das artes, numa poética plástica híbrida, que mescla o estudo das raízes ameríndias brasileiras e a tradição plástica ocidental / Abstract: This research project aims to explore some of the issues which have arisen on the joumey towards the rediscovery of the hybrid object in the field of contemporary fine arts. Amongst these are the mixture of different culturally conditioned models and techniques of representation, and the psycho-social mechanisms of individual's adaptation to changes caused to the environment by anthropocentric technology. In the current context of growing interdisciplinarity between the various fields of knowledge and due to the accumulation of data, it was decided to limit the research's focus to those areas of convergence. This will provide us with a complementaryfocus on the issue: anthropology, ethnography, art history and psychology a number, amongst these. Thus, the research was based on anthropological structuralism and, in particular, on the concept of bricolage, which informed the main trust of the dissertation toward which the other aforementioned disciplines also contributed. The research had two results: The first was to produce a sufficiently all-encompassing theoretical basis to map out the objectification of the rediscovery of the hybrid objet in the fine arts; secondly, the objectification of this theoretical scrutinisation on the operational form of the arts which, in a hybrid fine arts poetic, deals with the conjunction of the study of the brazilian native american roots and the westem Fine Arts tradition / Mestrado / Mestre em Artes Plásticas
