Previous issue date: 2014-05-27 / One of the most significative tendencies of African literature, with an special enphasis in the Angolan literature, is to privilege the fiction by highlighting the story, Pepetela being one of the most representative and systematic author soft his fictional genre. Taking it as a start, this research aims to observe the established relations between fiction and History in the construction of A Sul. O sombreiro (2011), the penultimate work from the writer Pepetela. In its contents, first a discussion about the approximations and detachments between History and Literature and, from this perspective, the process of fictionalizing the history and some representative authors in this novel modality. Contextualizing the analysis corpus´, a biobibliographic revision of the author is undertaken in order to discuss specifically about the chosen work. A parallel amongst Pepetela´s work and António de Oliveira Cadornega book, História Geral das Guerras Angolanas (1680), is made. At last, the versatility of the narrative form built by the author is highlighted, enjoying the multiple narrator pepeteliano. The analysis is theoretically based in multidisciplinar studies of Albuquerque Júnior, Sandra J. Pesavento, Ligia Chiappini, Marilene Weinhardt, Luiz Costa Lima, Inocência Mata, Rita Chaves, Tania Macêdo, Laura Padilha, Jorge Macedo, Francisco Soares, Walter Benjamin, Silviano Santiago, Theodor Adorno, among others. / Uma das tendências mais significativas da literatura africana, com especial ênfase para a literatura angolana, é privilegiar a ficção a partir da história, sendo Pepetela um dos mais representativos e sistemáticos cultores dessa modalidade ficcional. Partindo disso, esta pesquisa tem por objetivo observar as relações estabelecidas entre a ficção e a história na construção de A sul. O sombreiro (2011), penúltima obra do escritor Pepetela. Em seu conteúdo, faz-se primeiramente uma abordagem sobre as aproximações e distanciamentos da História e Literatura e dentro desta perspectiva trata-se do processo de ficcionalização da história e de alguns autores representativos desta modalidade romanesca. Contextualizando o corpus de análise, empreende-se uma revisão biobliográfica do autor, para discorrer especificamente sobre a obra escolhida. Traça-se um paralelo entre a obra de Pepetela e o livro de António de Oliveira de Cadornega, História Geral das Guerras Angolanas (1680). Por fim, ressalta-se a versatilidade do formato narrativo construído pelo autor, apreciando o narrador múltiplo pepeteliano. A análise baseou-se, teoricamente, nos estudos multidisciplinares de: Albuquerque Júnior, Sandra J. Pesavento, Ligia Chiappini, Marilene Weinhardt, Luiz Costa Lima, Inocência Mata, Rita Chaves, Tania Macêdo, Laura Padilha, Jorge Macedo, Francisco Soares, Walter Benjamin, Silviano Santiago, Theodor Adorno, entre outros.
