Previous issue date: 2015-02-25 / This dissertation, "When education goes beyond the school walls: A study of popular education in Popular Legal Promoters project", has as its central theme prejudice and discrimination, based on race and gender, present in current society, more specifically, against black women. The training course of Popular Legal Promoters seeks, among other objectives, democratize and provide support for women to recognize themselves as active and rightful individuals, delivering, at the end of each course, trained popular educators who multiply the knowledge gained. It promotes, throughout the research, an interlocution between theory and researches related to feminism and black movement, along with the data obtained in fieldwork. The main objective was to analyze the educational functions and the educational action of the Popular Legal Promoters, as well as investigate if and how the race and gender, in its intersectionality, interfere, positively or negatively, with self-esteem and recognition of the students of the eighth class of the Popular Legal Promoters of Campinas project. Such research has qualitative nature and the methodological instruments used were the observations of the eighth group of the course, questionnaire with participants, and interviews with the project organizers in the city of Campinas. The obtained results consist of hypotheses of interlocution of a popular education with the social movements. These results indicate that women are plural, heterogeneous and seek their autonomy and recognition in the environment they live in, leaving the victim roles from their histories, becoming the protagonists of their lives. Since these data were collected based on the formation of a group of Legal Advocates project, new researches and investigations on this issue are recommended. / A presente disserta??o Al?m dos muros da escola: Um estudo sobre a educa??o popular e o projeto Promotoras Legais Populares de Campinas , tem por tema central o preconceito e discrimina??o de ra?a e g?nero presentes na sociedade atual, mais especificamente, contra a mulher negra. O curso de forma??o das Promotoras Legais Populares busca, entre outros objetivos, democratizar e fornecer subs?dios para que as mulheres se reconhe?am como sujeitos atuantes e de direitos, formando ao final de cada curso, educadoras populares multiplicadoras do conhecimento apreendido. Promove-se, ao longo da pesquisa, uma interlocu??o entre a teoria e pesquisas relacionadas com o feminismo e o movimento negro juntamente com os dados obtidos em trabalho de campo. O objetivo central foi analisar as fun??es educacionais e a??o educativa do projeto de Promotoras Legais Populares, bem como investigar de que modo o ra?a e g?nero, na sua interseccionalidade, interferem, positiva ou negativamente, na autoestima e reconhecimento das alunas da oitava turma do projeto de Promotoras Legais Populares de Campinas.Tal pesquisa ? de car?ter qualitativo e os instrumentos metodol?gicos utilizados foram as observa??es da oitava turma do curso, question?rio com as participantes e entrevistas com as organizadoras do projeto na cidade de Campinas. Os resultados obtidos consistem em hip?teses de interlocu??o de uma educa??o popular com os movimentos sociais. Tais resultados indicam, tamb?m, que as mulheres s?o plurais, heterog?neas e que buscam sua autonomia e reconhecimento do meio em que vivem, deixando o papel de v?tima da sua hist?ria, passando a ser protagonista de sua vida. Uma vez que estes dados foram coletados com base na forma??o de uma turma do projeto de Promotoras Legais Populares, novas pesquisas e investiga??es sobre o tema s?o recomendadas.
