activities in the classroom and what practical benefits they get form it. Besides that, this study
emphasizes the value of Puppet Theatre and it claims for a larger space for this theatrical form
in the school environment, highlighting both, its artistic value and its pedagogical potential.
The data information was collected in the Drama subject at E.E.B Leonor de Barros public
school, initially involving the First and Third year classes of High School, and later, also
covering their Seconds year classes. As a result, it came about a series of potentialities and
benefits for the students; and on the other hand, it reviled working possibilities, mistakes and
successes in the teaching practice. This work was divided into three chapters: first - The
Puppet Theatre in Education, which presents a brief history of Puppet theatre in Brazilian
schools and universities, while pointing out the diversity of puppet theatre and it also explain
the choice of “puppet manipulation visible to the audience”, based on Japanese theater
Bunraku. Second - The implementation of this project at the referred school, which describes
the methodological approach with its structures, schedules, profiles of classes, its
implementation, the analysis of the questionnaire and the reporting of the meetings. And
third- the potential of Puppet Theatre, which presents a reflection on the potential inherent in
the Puppet Theatre in the classroom. / A presente pesquisa investiga a maneira como o Teatro de Bonecos, em sala de aula,
potencializa o envolvimento do aluno nas atividades da disciplina de Artes e quais benefícios
esta prática oferece aos estudantes. Além disso, ressalta o valor do Teatro de Bonecos e
reivindica um maior espaço para esta modalidade teatral no ambiente escolar, destacando
tanto seu valor artístico quanto seu potencial pedagógico. Estes dados foram coletados nas
aulas de Artes do Ensino Médio na E.E.B Leonor de Barros, inicialmente envolvendo os
Primeiros e Terceiros anos, e mais tarde, abrangendo também os Segundos anos. Como
resultado, constatam-se uma série de potencialidades e benefícios aos alunos, bem como
aponta caminhos, erros e acertos no trabalho docente. Esta dissertação dividiu-se em três
capítulos, sendo eles: O Teatro de Bonecos na Educação, que apresenta um breve histórico do
teatro de animação nas escolas e universidades brasileiras, além de apontar a diversidade do
teatro de bonecos e afirmar a opção pela linguagem de manipulação à vista do público,
baseada no Bunraku, teatro japonês; Aplicação do Projeto na Escola, que descreve a proposta
metodológica com suas estruturas, cronogramas, perfil das turmas, aplicação e análise do
questionário e relato das oficinas; e, por fim, O Potencial do Teatro de Bonecos, que traz uma
reflexão sobre o potencial inerente ao Teatro de Bonecos na sala de aula.
